In order to use widget only you need to first turn on the notification once and then it can be turned off.
App permissions
Signal Notification (Free) 2.01 APK requires following permissions:
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to open network sockets.

1 ★ This app is installed on a Google Pixel 2 XL running Android 9. Its display comes up largely unreadable. It displays a solid square in the notificationd bar with no information displayed. Im not sure what I'm doing wrong.
1 ★ Motorola E5 play. Veeizon. drop down notification says 0 all times. normal top display always says -120. None of that is right
3 ★ Nougat informs this app consumes 32MB RAM, just to show a number (signal strenght in dBm) in the status bar, way too much for me, looking for another, it works anyway.
