4 ★ Simply works. It is very simple to use and setup. The only issue I have found so far is one needs to be close to the device Everytime one set it up to work with the app. If the user is away from home and have to reset the phone, he won't be able to get control of the device until he gets back and join the network where the device is in.
3 ★ It works and it's stable and reliable. But it's one of the ugliest and clunky user interfaces I've ever seen. It would be awesome if the timing could be written off-line in a text file and then imported or cut/pasted into the program. As it is - meh. Oh, and BTW, if you have trouble connecting, put the switch RIGHT NEXT TO your wifi router.
2 ★ I feel really bad about rating this so low, when the device is vastly superior to its competitor in terms of setup and connectivity. I'm even adding a star for how great the UI looks. But the sound the device makes! Two high pitch tones right at the limit of hearing! I can't have this device plugged in anywhere in the room, I gotta have my sleep. It just isn't worth enduring the nightmares and the general feeling of unease.
1 ★ The past few months I noticed this App has stopped working. The device still works through Alexa but this app is complete garbage. Reinstalled and tried again ..does the same thing, sits frozen on WiOn logo screen.
1 ★ I have had this product for almost two years. In the last two weeks the app keeps telling me it can't connect to the internet. Even though it shows that I am connected to the cloud I cannot remotely turn it on and off. I have tried contacting the company via email as well as calling several times and no one is available to troubleshoot this problem!
5 ★ Can you please change the color of the digits from green and red to white. Its impossible to see for color blind people
5 ★ Easy to setup and works as designed. I use it for Christmas lights and for displaying the flag.
1 ★ Been satisfied with the WIOn outlets, however I've started to look else where for the Google Home compatibility. So happy to see the recent update (Jan 9) to allow Google Home compatibility. Google Home cannot control it anymore - even though the Wion App works..
3 ★ The app is ok. I use it all the time to remotely turn my lights on and off. The only issue I have is that the router I have loses connection with the plugs occasionally. The router is a Netgear brand device and Netgear devices are not known for flawless reliability. Not sure why other people are having such a hard time setting these things up. It's as straight forward as an autonomous WiFi device can get. Plug the plug in to power, connect your phone to the device's own WiFi signal, open the app, set up your connection to the router, reconnect to the router's WiFi, use plug. That's it. Unfortunately it seems like the company that made it has abandoned any online presence. Woods, specifically. Their website is pretty much broken and unmaintained at this point. If you want to look up any more information on it you're out of luck, so keep your manuals. Thankfully the app and devices can be used without any Woods branded walled garden. It still works with Alexa, the app still works directly with the devices, no need for a Woods account like with some other companies. Just because the company is nonexistent online doesn't mean you can't still use the devices and app.
1 ★ I found the 50050 on clearance, and despite all the bad reviews, I thought I'd pick it up for as cheap as it was. Hot garbage. I couldn't get the app to stay connected to it once I set my phone back to my home wifi. The whole app is as buggy and poorly designed as everyone else is saying. That, and no support for Google home (only Alexa, really?); it's going back to target tomorrow. Thanks for nothing
5 ★ Hey this is great ! For those who have projects things you need to keep ON or OFF while at work. Also great for time sensitive application where you need consistency. Like GREENHOUSE lighting. How about lights out? Its bedtime? This is one of those kind of devices that keeps the Lights, On Time and in check. That's how we light it up here in Canada, Niagara Falls,Ontario
5 ★ These are great. I can turn lights of an on from anywhere. Have them all set up to turn off and on automatically through the app. Just wish they worked with Google home.
1 ★ This app is horrendous to use. I have many other wifi products that were easy to connect. This one is awful. I've tried everything and can't get it to connect. EDIT: I was finally able to get it setup...by using an old Android phone. It is impossible to use the latest version with this app. (The wifi selection will never come up) Once it's setup it works in the app though. Note that this doesn't support Google Home :(
4 ★ The app is good enough to control the device but it is not the most user friendly app I've seen. I suggest the color for the ON time displayed in the programming schedule is changed to some other color. The green letters can hardly be seen over the black background. Maybe yellow would work much better. Other than that I hardly ever have any issues with the app.
5 ★ I've not had any problems with the app or any of my devices. Fingers crossed that it stays this way. Am up to nine WiOn outlets, just ordered two more. I have Kasa devices at another location, they work great as well, bit the WiOn app is far more flexible at setting the timings. Especially like a few lights coming in and off at random in the early evening hours so if I'm home or away, from the outside you'd never know.
