Description
This app interacts with your surroundings to configure settings on your phone automatically. Combine triggers and actions to create tasks, then activate the tasks that you create with conditions that you set!
Here are examples of what you can do:
In your car: Use Bluetooth as a trigger to open GPS and launch your favorite music app
On your nightstand: Program an NFC tag to set your ringer to vibrate, dim your display and set an alarm
In your house: Use WiFi as a trigger to silence your phone, connect to bluetooth, and play your favorite songs.
The current free triggers are as follows:
-NFC
-Bluetooth
-Wifi
And as part of our Pro-Upgrade we also have these additional triggers:
-Battery Level
-Location
-Time triggers
-Charging
-Calendar Events
-Agent
-Headset
And here are a few examples of the actions that you can perform with Trigger task launcher:
- Change WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile hotspot, airplane mode (root users in Jelly Bean and up), auto-sync, GPS and mobile data settings (root users).
- Change your volumes or notification tones.
- Change your display brightness, timeout, auto-rotation, or notification light settings
- Check in on social media like Foursquare or Google Places
- Send messages using Twitter, SMS, Email, or Glympse
- Start or stop Applications (root required for stopping most applications), dock modes, open URLs, speak text, or navigate to an address
- Set Alarms or create calendar events
- MORE!
Trigger is a task launcher that allows you to easily program your device to do the actions you do regularly.
So go ahead and create your own combinations to automate your life. The only limit is what you can come up with!
The Wall Street Journal calls it "living in the future."
Additional actions can be found when experimental features are enabled in advanced settings. Auto lock screen and airplane mode are restricted by Android but we've created some work around solutions for these actions. (Note: They aren't 100% reliable which is why they're classed as "experimental features").
Some demos can be viewed on the application website
Note: When using NFC Tags you can create a Switch task that will toggle between two tasks with each tap.
We're always working on adding new actions to Tasks. Please get in touch if there's something you'd like to do that's not currently offered.
This application supports NFC Forum Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 and Type 4 Tags as well as third party NFC Enabled tags like the MIFARE Classic, DESFire, Ultralight and Ultralight C. Now supporting read-only tags & allowing you to write any amount of data to any tag using Tagstand's cloud service. This allows you to use your tags just as you would any writable tag without worrying about size.
All permissions are listed and explained here: https://sites.google.com/site/triggerwiki/permissions

2 ★ Get rid of the foreground notification. Problem is this foreground notification. I see there is a setting for it under the general settings, but even if it is turned off, the notification still shows. I would email the developers, but i've tried that before and never got a response. Like many others, have used this app for years. Then triggers stopped running on their own. would have to open the app. found this to be b/c the app was set for battery saver, so it would only run when open. (in case others have this.)
1 ★ Do not update. Current version : 9.3.2(613) crashes all the time. Starting any task manually crashes. I even reinstalled and when I went to restore my tasks, it crashed. Good thing it didn't crash when I backed up to the cloud. It's been like this for weeks! No word. No replies to feedback.
3 ★ I used Trigger to auto-switch audio profiles when joining or leaving certain wifi networks. Unfortunately, this no longer works after updating to Android 9 (Galaxy S8). To be more precise, it does work if I manually start Trigger, but it doesn't work automatically anymore. It appears that Trigger is set to sleep by the OS. UPDATE: There is a workaround: Go to Settings, Apps, Trigger, Battery, Optimize battery usage, filter for All apps and find Trigger, turn off Optimize battery
2 ★ I've used Trigger for years. It has been great until Android P came along. Usually there were issues with new Android versions, but they were fixed with a week with an app update. Is now been nearly 2 months and the app still has issues. My activity that should run when I connect to Bluetooth runs randomly minutes or hours after I've disconnected from the Bluetooth device. The activity that should run when I disconnect typically never run, though it has a few times while connected. I tried to contact the developer with the provided email here, but received no response.
1 ★ Worked great on my s7. On my s10 its garbage. I set a few routines based off of the wireless charging trigger. Ill lay my phone down and it will charge. Then the trigger will occur about 10 to 15 minutes later(even 30 min. Completely random). Or after i take my phone off charging about 35 minutes later it will launch. Its so random and bad.
2 ★ Used to love this app, but it seems to be abandoned. I backed up my tasks to the Cloud in order to change phones. However, it won't restore my previous tasks. On top of that, triggers aren't working properly. Some triggers never activate, while others would randomly activate without being triggered. It's too bad. I would've paid for the Pro version if I felt like the developer would support the app.
1 ★ i had used this app for years, and it did its job. But since upgrading my phone to one running Android 9, the trigger fires randomly, making the app worse than useless. I emailed the developer, but never heard back. Based on that and the date of the last release, it seems to no longer be supported.
1 ★ "Cant find Google+ user." So I can't try Pro to see if this will do what I need. Blah.
1 ★ Stopped working well after updating to Android 9 Pie on Samsung S8+. Triggers would happen well after (like hours) conditions are met. I had a trigger to start playing music when connecting to my car Bluetooth, and that trigger would happen after my commute to work blasting my music in the office from my phone. I pretty much disabled all my triggers. Not sure what happened, but doesn't work well anymore.
4 ★ Has been working well for the most part. After a couple of weeks, a trigger task will go dormant until it's 'run' manually. But now, after this last Android update, hardly any of the tasks are working. Hope a fix can come of it soon.
4 ★ I need help how do i setup theater mode, as in i was thinking that during this period of time when i am in the theater all calls are rejected automatically and the caller gets sent a message saying i am in the theater. Is there an easier way to set it up other than a trigger for each individual phone number because i cant seem to find it, or if someone has a premade flow chart simmilar to this that they want to share i would be grateful. Pretty great app other than that kinda hard to use tho
3 ★ Great app, I used to love it, but since the last update to Android 9 on my OnePlus3T it works only if the app is opened and running in foreground or background. It's obviously supposed to work as a service even if the app is turned off.. please fix it!
2 ★ This was my favorite task launching app until the update. Now my tasksdo not take effect automatically when i have lcation as one of the triggers and whenever the trigger is a Bluetooth device it generally takes up to 5 mins before the task(s) is triggered. please fix especially since I actually did the in-app purchase.
3 ★ Definitely not functional like it used to be. Went to write a Tasker event to a tag and the option no longer exists. Not even in the pay options. Such fail, no wow. Still works fine on Android 4.x but not at all on Android 8.x. Had to use an old device to write a tag.
4 ★ App was the best way to set scenes. my fav is set for nightime to coincide with do not disturb mode since it can go much further. however, it stopped automatically running tasks with update to Android Pie. i can run them manually, but the triggers aren't working anymore.
