Description
The Encompass® ELD app is compliant with ELD (Part 395 Subpart B and Part 395 Appendix) rules. The electronic logging device is on the FMCSA ELD registry. The Encompass® ELD app is part of the J. J. Keller® Encompass® Fleet Management System, which uses the J. J. Keller® electronic logging device and the Encompass® back office portal.
HOW DOES IT WORK:
Hours-of-service and telematics data is captured from the engine via a hardline adapter from the engine’s diagnostic port into the ELD hardware. The hardware continuously records and stores engine data. Data is transmitted via Bluetooth from the hardware to the Encompass® ELD application on drivers’ Android™ devices. Hours-of-service data and alerts are presented to the drivers in real time using compliance rulesets determined by the company. Data from the Android™ device is transmitted via cellular connection to the Encompass® online back office for hours-of-service auditing, reporting and recordkeeping.
APP FEATURES:
MANDATE-COMPLIANT ELD – Solution is compliant with the final FMCSA mandate. Regulatory and technology updates are delivered over-the-air and require no hardware swap outs.
HOS COMPLIANCE ALERTS - App continuously checks drivers’ hours against the current DOT hours-of-service rules and company rulesets, and alerts drivers of impending violations.
HOS RULE SETS – App supports state and industry rulesets, including US 60/70, US and Texas Oil Field, Canadian Cycle 1 & 2, US Construction, 100 & 150 Air-Mile Exempt, and more.
ROADSIDE INSPECTION MODE – Supports ELD regulatory requirements for roadside inspection protocol, including mobile display and Telematics Data Transfer method.
ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INSPECTIONS (EDVIRs) – Driver-friendly interface supports pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection process, customized criteria, and photo capture of defects.
MOBILE MESSAGES – Allows for the quick and efficient exchange of critical information between the back office and drivers.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY - Supports team driving, hyrail, personal conveyance, exempt logging, border crossing, and more.
FLEXIBILITY – App can be used with the J. J. Keller® Compliance Tablet™ or the driver’s own smart device.
DOT DRIVER AND VEHICLE COMPLIANCE RECORDKEEPING – Includes Encompass back-office DOT driver and vehicle compliance recordkeeping features for driver qualification, alcohol and drug program management, hiring, and more.
DEDICATED DRIVER SUPPORT – Drivers receive 24/7 technical support and Roadside Inspection assistance. A dedicated support team ensures quick resolution on technical issues.
DEDICATED COMPANY SUPPORT – Users receive complimentary amenities, including DataQs Challenge Service; DOT Expert Help from our subject-matter experts; regulatory webcasts; an online support site with training videos, FAQs, user guides; and an online training library (Spring 2020).

1 ★ Always having trouble with it!!! It's annoying like it hates on Samsung but not on Apple smh
2 ★ You would think with all the updates this app would be alot better. This app has SO many hiccups it's very frustrating, doesn't like to switch off driving screen - doesn't like to connect right away - gets stuck on " loading " just to name a few of this apps issues.
1 ★ Connected to a different truck and it started a log for a day that's THREE months ahead in time and won't allow the proper change to occur for that log.
1 ★ The app has a very big problem when the driver disconnects from one vehicle to connect to another vehicle in one day, and sometimes carries over into the next day. I try everything under the Santo get connected, every day it takes right at 45 min to an hour just to get connected.
1 ★ Gets stuck in driving mode even when stopped for 5 minutes. I have to swipe app closed and login to do anything involving a status change. The clocks dissapear and no way but to exit and login to get them back. Constantly shows a yellow or red issue icon. Change trucks and it tries to force that trucks logs on you even though you already have logs submitted.
2 ★ I do not like this ELD! Its so laggy!! Takes a good min for the "driving" screen to go away so you can change your duty status. Most ELDs ive dealt with will automatically change your status to on duty not driving if your stopped for a few min. Not this one. Keeps you on driving or last mine does. Ill use persona conveyance and if im stopped for a while it throws me off and puts me on duty. Thats dumb! It should be like all the others. Keeps you on PC until you physically take your self off!

1 ★ Your service representative are as helpful as your app works. They only suggest to update the app because FMCSA is always changing their rules for ELDs and that still doesn't fix the issue.

1 ★ Junk. At night when you stop at light it goes back to the main screen and blinds you till you start moving again. Had it switch from off duty to driving twice in one day. Wouldn't recommend it. Can't do split sleeper berth cause it doesn't stop the 14 hr clock and JJ Keller told me it would show in volition till you finish the other break. But hey they don't have to deal with the DOT officer
1 ★ Bad!!! Every time there's a problem, it consists of them deleting the day and me manually putting it back in. Also them telling me they're working on it, this has been going on for almost two years. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE???
