App permissions

SwannCloud 3.3.16 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows an application to read or write the system settings.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.

Allows an app to access precise location.

1 ★ This app does not work and I believe Swann has no interest in fixing it so you update to a new camera. This has been an issue for months and everyone you contact them they say they are working on it. If you can't fix it for to a previous firmware when it worked. Do not buy a Swann camera!

1 ★ *do not waste your money* Swann have thrown loads of cameras offline with updates to this app and have been left without security cameras for months now! Continually being told they need to do an update but no timeframe can be given.

1 ★ Cameras worked until the updates now no preview and cannot reregister camera with qr codes. Support is terrible for swann cameras. I will be investing into a different camera maker Not swann

3 ★ I've bought a stand alone camera, (SWADS-446CAM) and used to get notifications alert. Shortly after, notifications alert stopped working. I have rung technical support several times but have failed to get notifications to work. I have also sent technical support an email 2 weeks ago and still no reply. This is very disappointing and damaging to your reputation. Sadly, l am looking at other brands to fit a surveillance system to my home. I should give you 1 star but l can't fault anything else.

1 ★ Just doesn't work. Have 3 cameras for 3 years plus and never worth the money I have paid for these. One is constantly offline despite sometimes recording events. The others occasionally go offline, but again sometimes record events. Sometimes when they do record an event they then don't record the next clip. Now events have no previews but when played can hear sound but no video. The cameras seem to work but apart from insisting on telephone and contact permissions , (why?), the software stinks.

1 ★ This app is by far the worst I have ever tried using. It, and the cameras are always crashing and for the past few months there has been no live streaming. Customer service is non-existant, not replying to my request for suggestions as to what I can try to recover the streaming. Never again will I be buying Swann, nor should anyone else!

1 ★ No longer works! No preview unless you are within 20ft of the camera. Have sent emails asking why this is happening. No-one has responded to emails. Buy yourselves a better camera, its not worth the hassle with this company. Everytime they do an update. The software never works properly! !!!

1 ★ It's probably moot to leave a review here as it's quite apparent that swanncloud doesn't give a fig how subpar and nonperforming their software is. It had tons of issues before including failure to send notifications, continuously offline cameras and failure to capture and play back events. Recently, mine has completely stopped working, period! A miserable end to a miserable abysmal performance! And the cameras without the software are useless!

1 ★ Device will not register to wifi network. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT'S USELESS!!!. The product description is false and i am suprised no one has filed a lawsuit against swann Australia. The product manual is only helpful for the physical hardware and there is no built in app support for troubleshooting. The website is no help as well 5 thumbs down swann.

1 ★ Tried for HOURS to get my tilt/pan camera to register. Finally called Swann. Eventually got connected after I created a new account (against supports recommendations) Hung up the phone, disconnected the camera to relocate to another area of the house and have been trying for MONTHS to get the camera running again. Swann said to uninstall the app and reinstall (to just RELOCATE a camera?!) Did not work. Now they want me to install on another phone - BS. I dont have another phone to use!

1 ★ Doesn't work with Android 9 on Pixel2, nor can I get it to work on Samsung tablet with Android 8. Also cannot view video when connecting directly to the camera via IP address with Windows unless I use Internet Explorer.. Chrome and Edge won't run the necessary extension anymore. Update: it's a year later and a new phone (Galaxy A70) and it still doesn't work

1 ★ EVERYONE needs to contact Google and complain about this app. You can by clicking in the upper right and flag the app.Then select other and tell them about your poor experience also. Swann has been emailed several times by hundreds of people and still has not fixed the app for over a year. It is time people start to sue Swann for this. Make then pay in court for not providing what was promised. Times up. They know they are cheating people and won't fix the problem.

1 ★ Regret the day I bought into Swann cameras. Always off-line on a wired connection, App will not fully open before crashing, when it occasionally opens no live feed can be retrieved to set there field of view. Only still there because I cannot afford to change them at the moment. Do not do it!!!!!
