Description
Canvas Teacher allows teachers to facilitate their courses on the go, both inside and outside the classroom. This app provides quick access to three of the most frequent course facilitation tasks for teachers:
• GRADING: Browse submissions and provide feedback to your students with a new and improved mobile SpeedGrader embedded in this app.
• COMMUNICATING: Send announcements and messages (including "Message Students Who..."), and participate in course discussions from the palm of your hand.
• UPDATING: Need to change a due date? Or publish an assignment? Or fix a misspelling? Canvas Teacher allows you to update your course content.
Canvas Teacher is the perfect mobile Canvas companion for course facilitation!
App permissions
Canvas Teacher 1.36.0 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows an application to modify global audio settings.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

2 ★ Speed grader is annoying to use on the Android version. Annotations randomly do not save properly so I need to reload a student's assignment everytime to make sure it saves properly. You can't set a default annotation color so if you prefer something other than blue, you need to go into the swatch everytime you need to erase or get rid of the occasional ghost line. It would be great if you could implement Samsung's S Pen API or at the very least, Android's stylus API.
1 ★ Barely functioning app, developers should be embarrassed that this is the best they can do after so many years. Only direct message notifications work with the latest update. Notifications for discussions you're subscribed to stopped working. That's really all the app was good for too.
5 ★ I love the phone app. It's easy to quickly access what I need, without needing to open my computer. It helps stay on top of everything and give students quick feedback on their work.
2 ★ Reviewing app separately from the web platform from which it is derived. That has some of its own problems with accessibility, but I'll bracket that for this review. The biggest problem with this app is that it doesn't allow the font to increase or text otherwise fill the screen. Nearly impossible to read on a mobile device. Also they have disabled one of the best features in the grading module - seeing content on left and grade on right rather than in separate tab. Finally, no dark mode.
2 ★ The app has super limiting features. You can really only edit titles and view people. Everything has to be done on your PC.
4 ★ Work fairly well to handle my teaching duties. It's a good way to check in. For anything complicated I still use a computer.
1 ★ This app is useless if you all don't fix the fact that there's no way to navigate backwards! You get kicked out of the app for using both the app's "back" key and the phone's! It is frustrating that I can't use this app when I need to in a pinch. NOT user-friendly.
2 ★ The app has extremely limited function. Essentially you have communication features and I struggle to find anything else of use. Canvas itself is far superior to things such as Google classroom, But the app is far inferior to theirs.
2 ★ 1)When I get a notification and I tap on it, the app just opens without seeing the notification. I don't understand why. 2)The calendar ,which I really find very useful, is missing . 3)Also, I can't create conferences.

1 ★ I have tried it on both Android and the Applecrap and surprise surprise it works better on Appleshit. Seriously !!!
5 ★ This app is definitely a must for teachers! Should you need to reach out to your students while away from your desk, this app affords you this luxury.
2 ★ It's an ok substitute if all I'm doing is grading on my phone. It's very difficult/tedious to do much else. My major concern is there is no calendar feature.
