The Sorgun Thinking Club (SDK) was founded in 2007 by a group of Sorghunlu university graduates living in Istanbul. Among the founders are lawyers, bankers, teachers, lecturers, doctors, engineers and members of various professions engaged in free trade.

Club members meet on the first Saturday of every month in Istanbul with a breakfast program. The SDK also meets once a year with our members from Sorgun, from other cities and from Sorgun. Our club does not interfere with the aim of meeting uninterrupted a certain day of every month which seems very difficult to maintain in the beginning of Istanbul conditions.

The SDK, in which its members participate and participate in their activities as a whole voluntarily, without any expectation, status and status expectancy, is a unique model that aims to achieve its goals without imposing a legal identity. Continuity is one of the most fundamental principles of the SDK.

The Sorgun Thinking Club is a completely civilian and independent organization that is not under the control or influence of any party, ideological structure or community.

One of the primary objectives of the SDK is to strengthen the ties between university graduates and university students in Sorgunlu and to ensure that the potential of this high potential audience is to provide useful, original, qualified, feasible and sustainable works for their homeland and ultimately for all humanity.

The SDK regularly publishes a specific issue on the website (www.sorgundusuncekulubu.com) every month. File topics focus on author / work studies and social-cultural issues.

Thinking Club's query, an intellectual approach to Turkey's political, social, cultural and economic issues in trying to understand; in doing so, he draws a path outside the usual patterns and displays a totally original and objective attitude without capturing the dogmas of any thought or understanding; it acts as required by scientific morality and equity.

Sorgun Thought Club, with the understanding we have mentioned, our writers who have exhibited works in the field of culture / literature have been given to Yusuf Ziya Bahadınlı from Siyami Yozgat to Abbas Sayar to Durali Doğan; In addition, we try to understand, recognize and promote the values ​​raised by our Sorgun / Yozgat from different thought climates, away from prejudices, from scientists and academics in various branches.

The fact that we made a self-criticism as the SDK does not satisfy us at first, but the fact that the targeted works are carried out on a voluntary basis and that the works are targeted, require us to be more patient at this point. On the other hand, this process has reached a certain level of maturity at the end of the period from 2007 until today; With the year 2013, it started to sign more concrete works. The SDK aims to continue its activities with the same enthusiasm and determination.
