What's new in GNURoot Debian 0.7.0_i386
So, I am sending new users to a new app called UserLAnd which has a paid active dev team, but is still open and does most of what GNURoot Debian did, but better.
You are now sent to UserLAnd in the following cases:
1) you are using android 8.0+, because GNURoot Debian is completely broken for those users.
2) you are creating a new rootfs (unless coming from GNURoot Octave or GNURoot Runescape Installer)

Download the latest GNURoot Debian application, version 0.7.0_i386, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Tools app is developed by Corbin Champion and is easy to download and install.

Description
This does NOT require root.
A regular uninstall fully cleans up after this application.
This is expandable and you will be able to install your own applciations/packages into it.
Inside GNURoot Debian, you can create a root file system, launch into it, or delete it.
The moto is: "This ain't done, until everything* will run"
*everything == all linux, user space applications, without having to root your device. Some things (a small number of things), that actually require root will not work (like inserting a kernel module).

Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

4 ★ Didn't run on my android 6.0 tab... After opening the app, when the Debian console starts, it gives a message that is am using an old version, providing two options at the bottom of the message box, for help and settings. But as soon as I click any of the options, the screen gets blanked out! Really disappointed 😥.... Please help!
4 ★ really a full blown distro in a app, my only concern is it installs everything in internal storage yet my devoce has 2 more additional storage. Would be nice if instead installing it from the internal storage, it should be installed on where the GNURoot instance is for example, the SD Card, great work buneeds improvement.
5 ★ Found out many Linux emulators, including the well-known "Linux Deploy". But nothing was as convenient and amazing like this. Great Job developers. Just a request: Ctrl and Alt key should be added as virtual buttons. Thanks though:)
3 ★ In Termux they make Termux-Api for handle the Android phone like send messages and send notifications Please make GNURoot-api like termux-api 2ndly i cant able to run this app on background on oppo A37 i need this for run servers or install big files with apt But termux isn't Crash on background ... Make this like termux 3rd problem is for copy any thing in terminal its almost impossible to copy you command you run before So add these features because this app is batter then termux Last problem is i cant able to write or execute any script in MicroSdCard please please please i want to install kali-linux with build script but i haven't much storage to do so... I will gives you 5 stars updates this app as soon as possible
4 ★ Really good concept. However whenever you type something if the 'enter' button on your keyboard is something other than an arrow -Let's say 'Done'- it does not work. TL:DR Only thing this app lacks is an integrated keyboard. Besides this, meets all my expectations.
5 ★ This has made my Lenovo YogaBook infinitely more usable. Deployment was straightforward and it didn't take long to get a LXDE desktop up and running. As the YogaBook is based on an x86 processor the range of software available is probably greater than you would get with ARM based devices. The Debian environment is fast and seems to be stable, the builtin keyboard and trackpad on the YogaBook work in the desktop environment which means I now have a mini Linux tablet. A note for anyone trying this - there is no built in desktop environment so you will need to install another app for that and simply export your desktop environment, it's an extra step but still very simple.
3 ★ I loved this app on Marshmallow. I was able to test scripts that required seeing running processes. Since Nougat, I can no longer see running processes with ps -ef. That is most likely Nougat problem. However, this app can't see /storage which is my external sdcard. That is not a Nougat issue as termux and termius can see /storage. I hope there is something the devs can do to resolve those issues.
1 ★ Neither version old or new worked on s8 running oreo, states that it is not installed and crashes. Was able to open once and was nonfunctional then crashed. Please provide oreo support or provide support for most commonly used phone types will re rate once it is functional
1 ★ Does this work on Oreo? I tried to use it on a Pixel C with Oreo and it does not seem to work, keeps saying its not installed yet and to wait but it never does anything!
4 ★ All is OK, but on my Samsung GT-S5300 GNUroot Debian says that it isn't installed and then error occurs. I tried other ROMs and kernels but nothing happened.
5 ★ Application, and the effort should be appreciated. Commad line UI could be smoother (like Termux) but that is something I won't care about. But there are certainly things the developer can learn from KBox.
1 ★ This app is a hell of a beast. Did some very high end things that I never expected from Android and this app. Though excellent on standards..Google play store became extremely glitchy and slow and installation of any applications took around 15mins while previously it would just take a minute.
5 ★ You caught me one step from rooting my device after previous versions stopped working with android 6. Thanks a lot!
3 ★ The app works and installs great. But honestly, it's incredible just how terrible the terminal is. Special keys like up and down don't even work. It makes using it so much harder.
4 ★ The app is fantastic. Two probably noob question remain: How do I close VNC Client? How do I install/run real desktop environment like xfce or gnome?
