Download the latest A-GPS Tracker application, version 5.5, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Sports app is developed by Gio Bat and is easy to download and install.

Description
It is designed in particular for hikers that want to record a new path or want to follow an existing track and, more importantly, want to avoid losing themselves during their return way.
Features:
- Elevation is given relative to mean sea level ( note that most android programs don't do this)
- Your Latitude and Longitude coordinates are given in degrees and in UTM-WSG84 (published in paper maps)
- A track is stored in a GPX file. It can be recorded, stored or loaded to/from memory and shared with other people. Its Elevation vs Distance profile can be shown on the screen.
- Statistics of a loaded GPX track will include the net walk time, ascent and descent altitude.
- A "follow path" monitor function can be enabled to provide an alarm in case you are leaving a loaded GPX path.
It is important to understand that this App is good to trace your path but if you want to measure a walked distance the accuracy is not so good. A distance is measured as the sum of distances among the points acquired every 3sec or 5meters, but GPS accuracy is about 10/20meters, if the path is casual( not like a car that follows a road) the final result can’t be very accurate. Errors up to 15% in the measurement of distances are normal.
Errors are determined by several factors. The most important are:
- quality of received satellite signals, that is poor is the sky is clouded,
- configuration/relative position of satellites that is continuously changing,
- reflections of the signals on large surfaces like walls,buildings, etc.
These are the reasons why GPS may get poor position coordinates when GPS signals are weakened by meteorological conditions and in particular in urban areas, when satellite signals are received from a multi-path propagation due to reflections on buildings.
NOTE:
GPS is used here as a generic term and refers to the capability to receive position data from signals received from satellites. Modern phones can obtain position data from more than one satellite system, i.e. not only the american GPS but also GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. A-GPS Tracker will receive data from all the available satellite navigation systems. In addition A-GPS (Assisted GPS) also uses ground sources like cell tower data and WiFi, that may enhance quality and precision when in poor satellite signal conditions and in particular will help to reduce time to start fixing initial position. GPS will be the source of the more accurate position: Latitude, Longitude and Altitude. Note that for hikers Altitude it is of particular importance and can be given only by GPS.

A-GPS Tracker 5.5 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

5 ★ Love this app!!! Helps me find my way back out of the bush...lol
5 ★ Great app. Incredibly simple to use and very reliable performance. I have used this on a walk with my 3 year old daughter to record various points/photos along the way and I was amazed at how easy it was to do whilst simultaneously avoiding death and/or injury. Really straightforward app. I don't think it would be possible to find a simpler one which does the job.
5 ★ The app is good and I use the log to match locations to photographs. I understand the recent inclusion of an advertisment. I didn't install ad block plus on my laptop to exclude ads; I installed it to exclude animated ads. The dancing girl that appeared this morning on a-gps tracker is something I have a very low tolerance for. So I shall start to look for another application which is a pity as this one is really good. Your reply show that you are not in control and do not know what is being presented in that "banner", The banner is currently showing an animated, spinning, slot machine type advert. This is horrible. Deleting the app now.
3 ★ Arrrgh! Another app succumbs to adverts. Not always the prettiest user interface, but functional instead. Power consumption is very good whilst recording tracks. When I had problems with recording tracks it was ALWAYS down to aggressive battery management on phones or GPS unavailable, never the app.
5 ★ I've only used it for tracking short walks (3-4 miles) and it works well. Mileage is about right and if in woodland makes it easy to find your way back to starting point I like it.
5 ★ Easy to use and reliable. I use it for walking, cycling and general pottering about. Much better than any other app or fit bit I've tried.
5 ★ Very nice app. No ads, battery-friendly, and it works flawlessly. Thank you very much. Edit: I keep having problems with the 4.x versions. After a clean install and without battery optimization, the app still shuts down after a while. I went back to version 3.6.5. Edit #2: Version 4.2.4, with the foreground process, works fine. Thank you.
5 ★ I use this app while navigating and cutting trails in northern Ontario. It's very stable, simple and works as it should.
3 ★ Nice app, but now with annoying ads and no purchase option. I've gone over to geo tracker because it's similar but without ads.

4 ★ I hope will be read by developers. Yes, was exactly what I was looking for. Simple, and free gpx file. One critical bug though. Do not take pictures from within the app, it exists the button. After third one the recording stops writing points, which is fatal. Please put an upgrade! Other features may make it hammer, such that controlling the speed you play it
5 ★ This is great. It tracks my walk on GPS. It doesn't want to advise me on my diet, calculate my calories, update my social media, ask for my Facebook password or connect my Bluetooth to nearby friends. It just does what I wanted: maps, and measures, my walk. When I ask it to.
2 ★ Positives: the app tracks my journeys well and uses far less battery than most similar apps. Negatives: UI is clunky in the extreme and is more like a 1990s website than a 'phone app in 2020. Irritating that when it's not recording a track it still stays active and apparently making calls to GPS until you specifically tell it to quit, which is very bad behaviour.
5 ★ Excellent app. Good for tracking lockdown walks. Can be converted into fly through movies in Google Earth.
