1 ★ The update is bananas. It keeps logging me out for no reason and most of the times while trying to log in again it says error. Not an issue with password or wifi, I've even tried to install the app several times and it keeps doing the same. And IF I'm able to log in, it requests an authentication code. I couldn't find anywhere where to opt out the double authentificator.
3 ★ Update. After some email with the service team they were able to delete my account so I can create a new one. Had to sync up all bulbs again but now is working. Connection seems to be better with new app. From bad to worst to imposible. Previous app was bad, but at least I was able to control my lights, with this new one I can't even log in because the verification code is not working. Tried it multiple times with no luck. Don't update it unless you want to continue to use your lights.
1 ★ I installed this app to try and figure out why the Google assistant is randomly dropping lights all over my house. I can't get past the "create an account" page because every time I try to click on the box to Indicate that I have read the terms of service it opens the terms of service. I can't check the box, so I cant move on to the next step. I just installed the app and it is the latest version according to the play store.
5 ★ Much better app than C by GE. Lights respond flawlessly when you go to settings and need then flashing so you can ID the light bulb you need to set. Before, that feature was unreliable. The GUI looks great! You should have some preset Scenes like Phillips Hue App, but that is a wish. Your App does what it's supposed to do in an elegant, easy and reliable way SO FAR! Keep up the good work!
1 ★ I just downloaded the latest update 6-17. I cleared my cache and stored files. I even completely reinstalled. I still get the same error of invalid code when trying to login. Everything worked fine until they changed to Cync. If GE outsourced this app I would seriously consider going with someone else. There is no telling how much money their costing GE with frustrated people going to different brands.
5 ★ Alexa is happy again! Had an issue with two factor authentication not working.... However, Cync's team has quickly responded - reached out to me and resolved the issue with the new update. App is so much improved and connection throughout my home is seemless! Had to come back to my review to add that after the update, all my firmware updates for my lights completed on the first try for the first time ever!
1 ★ Can't log into new app, won't accept verification code and all devices stopped working with Google home when app was updated. Update: Talked with support, this is a known issue. No time frame on resolution. ****6/21 worked with GE support. All devices now linked to Google home and working. But app is still not accessible. Will keep the 1 star until I can actually access the app
1 ★ They made it worse... They made bad somehow worse. "Something went wrong" with a random bulb EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I have 14 lights. I just had to ask Google 7 times in a row to turn off all the lights, randomly they choose to not engage (they used to work actually) and spit out random error messages ("sure 13 lights are off, sorry something went wrong with *insert random light(s) name here... Yes I've reset and reconnected the account to Home. Insanely frustrating stuff. The opposite of useful.
1 ★ The app is absolutely terrible. When it actually connects to the devices, it only holds the connection for a very short time before disconnecting forcing you to reset the devices. The app also randomly logs you off and won't let you sign in without a 6 digit code emailed to you only it will not recognize the code as valid.
1 ★ Hot Garbage. I got some of their bulbs for a few bucks a couple days ago. The app worked and I was able to adjust the bulbs. Today the C reach arrived to allow Alexa implementation. The written instructions directly conflict with the directions in the app. When trying to start over my 2FA is no longer accepted although it works on their website. Support said an engineer will need to review my case...just let me log in lol Edit: I got back in registering a new email address.
1 ★ It's hard to imagine, but the new app manages to be even worse than the old one. Performing actions in the app takes more clicks, and key functionality was removed. Previously, you could set sunrise and sunset timers - it was very poorly executed given it didn't automatically update the time as sunrise and sunset changes through the seasons like ALL of my other smart switches, but at least you could go back into the app and re-set it with a few clicks... now you cannot even do that, and must look up sunrise and sunset times yourself and adjust timers. This should be the most basic of provided functionality for smart lights and switches (and is, for ALL of my other smart devices, including outlets). GE: Let's give people what they want... the ability to set custom background images on overly large scene buttons, because they're going to have to look at them a lot, given we're reducing the marginal automation capabilities 😞
1 ★ I like the new name and the UI - it's clean and simple. One thing tho - does it only require any bluetooth Cync products? I only have that one that connects through wifi and it disconnects from the app when the phone locks. I am also now unable to use the "Scenes" option. It was sooo convenient when I had it set before.
1 ★ I'm throwing away these "smart"plugs and going back to the old electrical timers i had. I can't change the time on/off for my lamps. The only reason i would ever use these things which worked fine before the update. Get off my phone, and simplify my life. Thanks for nothing.
1 ★ Edit - 6/9/21. After dealing with so much bs to get it working right... You guys throw in an update. My lights were set to turn on and off automatically. Well now they're on and they're stuck on cause the app won't let me turn them off. They're not turning off either, I've tried to hard reset several times. I'm loaded on sleeping pills. I have a big morning. It's been so long. What the hell are you guys doing to constantly screw up?
1 ★ You just made a good app terrible. It used to be easy to set up the automations, now called "scenes", you can't even tell the appliances what to do, turn on or turn off. And why do I have to select a photo for my scene? Please redo this app.
