Description
The S61's embedded Lepton Thermal Microcamera Module, powered by FLIR, visualises heat that is invisible to the naked eye, highlighting temperature contrasts, and is accessed on the S61 via the specially designed MyFLIR thermal camera Android™ app. Key features include:
-Live streaming vie YouTube
-High temperature mode allows users to see objects up to 400 degrees Celsius
-Capture still thermal images, video, panoramas, and time lapses
-Images and videos are enhanced with FLIR’s multi-spectral dynamic imaging technology (MSX) that embosses digital camera image data onto the thermal image to provide context and clarity
-Swipe between thermal and the corresponding visual spectrum saved images, making it easier to understand the thermal image
-Apply up to three movable spot meters and a fixed region of interest to read temperature data directly off the live image feed, or from saved images
-Switch between nine thermal colour palettes that visualise surface temperature contrasts differently, including modes to highlight just the highest and lowest temperature areas in the frame
-Select from four pre-set emissivity values and set custom temperature scales for thermal images
-Export radiometric JPEG images to apps including FLIR Tools, available for free, which offers additional image editing and analysis tools, temperature visualisations, and PDF reporting
-Can spot heat sources up to 100ft away, as well as seeing through obscurants like smoke.
*** Users experiencing problems with this app after upgrading the Android version on your Cat S61, please see these steps below to fix this issue:
1. Back up all your phone data first!
2. Hold down the FLIR app icon and select ‘App Info’.
3. Select ‘Permissions’ and ensure that all permissions are enabled.
4. Press back button to return to the previous menu and select ‘Storage’.
5. Select ‘Clear Cache’ and exit the App Info menu.

2 ★ Not sure if it's common issue. Now and then when it "self calibrates" while using it the whole screen shows one temperature irrespective of where you point the camera and yiu can't get it to come right again. Very annoying. However when it decides to work it's a very powerful tool to have.
2 ★ so.. from one day to the next, the app stopped working. I tried to start it, but once the blue progress bar is full, the screen stays black. it worked before, so reinstalling the app might have purged some leftover inconsistencies in the app data. Alas: it cannot be unistalled on a CAT S61. More users seem to have the same problem. (See redit) The only fix was for them to soft reset their phone. So: GREAT CAMERA. APP NEEDS WORK/BETA TESTING! Oh. My version is 2.2.11p
5 ★ Stopped working once updated to android Pie (9). Contacted customer support, the following fix works but you will need to reset all your settings afterward and possibly the alignment 1. Go to Settings 2. Apps -> see all apps -> 3-dot menu in the top-right corner 3. Select "Show system apps" 4. Find the MyFLIR app 5. Click on the app -> Storage 6. Clear cache, clear data 7.Go back, click "Force stop" 8. Restart the device and test the functionality. This worked for my s61, hope it helps you too.
1 ★ Camera was working well now all of a sudden the app keeps crashing it loads then closes straight away please fix then I'll change my review I bought this phone only for this feature now I can't even use it The only solution I have found is while the app is launching is to open the settings menu and reset the statics then the flir camera works for a couple of days before having to be repeated.
1 ★ The upgrade to Android 9 (which I note I had no choice over) broke this app. Now when I open the app, it does the calibration then... nothing. The main feature of the phone and they have disabled it! I've tried to contact Support twice and haven't even got an auto response. Stupid Bullitt.
1 ★ Won't even open on 2nd day owning brand new phone. What a joke. Update your software already!! Returning phone if I don't hear back from support, already waiting 12 hours.
1 ★ Brand new phone, doesn't work. Just a black screen. Tried all kinds of resets and cache clearing and nothing
3 ★ App is great, except that I have to turn the temperature scale on *every time* - it used to come up by default on the S60 but now I have to manually turn it on every time.
1 ★ The FLIR option has stopped working and by the looks of the other reviews, I don't know when I can expect it to ever work again. This was the main reason for buying the phone in the first place, so I'm a bit disappointed with the phone and the FLIR never working.
4 ★ Who do I contact for support? Latest Android update and camera has stopped working, app opens fine but won't bring up an image, I'm using this app every day for my business and need it working, would give it more stars but need some one to see this so app can be updated. Edit: No support but I managed to fix it myself, had to allow access to telephone and location not just the camera and storage, no idea why, guess they just want to listen in.
1 ★ FLIR camera has stopped working with update. Not happy as it is needed. What can I do to fix it? Have tried restarting phone but nothing. Not a good look for a 3 week old $1500 phone. Yes I am pissed off.
2 ★ They ruined it. With the new version, the settings go back to default every time you open the app... I have to add the macro slider and pinpoint targets each and every time I open the app.

1 ★ App has started to crash when attempting to view photos in gallery via app. Has also crashed whilst moving camera quickly while trying to aim for a shot. Predominant reason for purchase of phone as i utilise for work.
1 ★ App stopped working after android update. Please fix this, it's a great tool and main selling point of the phone. Would be a shame if it got bad recommendations
