4 ★ Nice, clean, functioning app design that just works. I follow the NFL, NHL and occasionally other leagues and this app essentially gives me all the information I need without having to check other apps. I hardly open their own apps anymore because they're just so slow and bloated, especially with slow internet (also missing stats and info that this app has!). I'm sure there are ways to improve this, but the only thing I can think of is maybe a light mode?A separate rookie stats tier as well. 4.7
2 ★ Love the timliness of your scores. However, your descriptions of scoring plays, especially football, are the worst of any app, newspaper, or online site. You describe scoring plays like they are in a foreign language. Wake up!!! 11/25/23...Been almost a year and the description of scoring plays is still horrible. Evidently the programmers didn't get the memo.
2 ★ Terrible performance. After repeated glitches, I gave up and uninstalled. The next day, on second thought, I tried to install. Sat pending for over half an hour, gave up again, uninstalled from my tablet as well, and will find an alternative app. Froze all the time when I had it, wouldn't allow me to select favorite teams, would always open scores section for a day that wasn't the current day, just terrible. Don't miss the aggravation.
1 ★ There's an ongoing issue that every time I click a notification for a news article or score, the app opens and it doesn't take me to what I clicked. It takes me to the most recent page that I had open in the app. Then the issue is that the notification is gone and I can't get to the article. It's been like this for months with no fix.
5 ★ My favorite sports news and scores app. Only thing I would change is to tweak the multi-sport widget; at 6 am each morning it switches to display the current day's games (all happening that night naturally) and it'd be cool if the widget also continued to show the previous day's final scores, at least until like noon or so.
2 ★ There are so many things wrong with this app, and its programmers . First off, they're biased against certain NFL teams where when one team scores against another, they'll show the video highlight(s) of the play of the team they favor and if the other team scores, all they show is graphic images. Another issue with this app is happening right now. They're literally showing the Commanders/Pats game as being over. The game had just gotten into the 4th quarter when this marked it as FINAL.
1 ★ Okay for news, scores, and stats, IF you can get it to work which honestly is not very often. It can be a maddening series "Report a bug" and "Refresh the page" messages which lead nowhere. If it's working --and that's a crapshoot --it's 5-star app. When it's not, it's below 1-star.
1 ★ Update: The latest version still uses at least 25% of my battery constantly now. Also, when opening up anything from the widget it takes you to what you were looking at previously and not what you tapped on. Edit: Rolling back to an older version from May resolved both issues. Looks like I won't be upgrading this app for a while....
1 ★ Used to love this app. However, over time it's gotten slower and slower. Now, over the past few days, I can rarely get it to load. I open it, get the full screen opening ad (of course that loads), and then the ad goes away and stays stuck on the full page "Score" logo. Force stop and clearing app cache worked once... But no longer. Guess it's time to find another app that is fast AND reliable.
1 ★ Time to uninstall. What was once the best scoring app available, has now turned into one of the worst. Freezes up with ads, delayed scoring, sometimes shows no content after 10 seconds of loading. Terrible what has happened to this app. Used it for many years. After reading through all the reviews over the last couple months, looks like I'm not the only one annoyed either. Moving to Sports Alerts.
1 ★ This is one of the apps I've had the longest. I've tried all the sports scores apps and this has always been the best. Something happened several months ago though now and it is terrible. Constantly glitches, very slow, usually can't get it to get past the load screen. I've updated, deleted, re downloaded etc. I'm using a new Samsung so no issues there. Sometimes it shows which network the game is on, sometimes not. Mainly just want to open the app again to see the score, pretty basic.
3 ★ Good app. I use it to track scores of my teams as the UI is better than others for that. The news though, not so much. Most of "the score" articles are political opinion pieces about politics in sports. Not what I'm interested in, if I had the option I would block their content from my feed. The articles arent updated like I'd like, more just cherry picked headlines with priority given to their own writers. Def don't use this app for sports news. Two thumbs up for live scores and UI though.
1 ★ theScore used to be my go to. Now, it alerts you to a game starting more than half an hour late. The menus are terrible and you have to click thru 4-5 different things to see related data (for example, MLB scores vs. standings). The alert system is so clunky you never really know what you're going to be alerted for (but it doesn't matter because it'll be 45 minutes late anyway). Genuinely disappointed an app that promised so much is so terrible.
1 ★ Back at it again with the drop-down ads above the toolbar menu. Ad drops down exactly where you want to click when opening a game. Most annoying ad delivery I experience through any app. They seem to stop doing it for a while, then bring them back. Absolute 5 star app without the drop-down ads. Been using this app for 10 years. Very frustrating.
5 ★ Been using this app since like 2013 or 2014. The absolute best part is the lack of clutter. You open the app and the scores are right there immediately. It's very easy to quickly switch sports/leagues and the news has its own tab. Standings/Rankings is very easy to find and navigate. Stats are very detailed and organized. Other apps like ESPN seem to prioritize news and opinion pieces over just showing me the scores! Not this one! Highly recommend!
