1 ★ Very poor functionality and far worse client support from Esri. They care only about attracting new clients--standard response for any issues from existing clients receives the replies "That's impossible/not repeatable". Offline field collection of data does not push edits back to all devices even when every device is synced multiple times so you can line up a dozen devices, sync them all 15 times, and they'll still show different values for data collected/edited offline. We're paying for this?!
2 ★ App does not support logging in with Google which is how I log into my account. The trial maps can collect data well, and show what the app can do, but the login issue (which is a known issue) prevents making it useful. I switched to the beta version, and have found it works well, but requires more setup on the backend than the current release version.
1 ★ Terrible. Crashes constantly. Flips orientation all the time. Very poor
1 ★ This app is useless for the individual consumer. It will not function for individual private/personal use w/o first paying an annual recurring subscription fee. esri is unconcerned w Individuals - pay $100 to use, or pay the discount price of ...$100 for student use. A military veteran - well you're in luck; specially discounted to $100. And we haven't forgotten you Seniors - reap the rewards of retirement w a special discount price of $100. & After 1 yr, renewal is easy w an auto annual charge!
3 ★ A feature, an option for enabling / disabling a background data collection is needed as our field personel has to walk in mountainous areas and forests and we need to know what parts of selected area were already checked (management). This should be possible in both online and offline mode. Hope it comes in a new release. Thanks.
1 ★ Bizarre behavior on the Samsung active2 tab. Basically once I had downloaded a map the app refused to delete it crashing upon trying. Cleared cache and data. Map still there. Uninstalled app. Zombie map still there! Went into the app directory to manually clean up files collector forgot there. Then was able to redownload the map. Offline data will only load whenever in the field. Oh and btw the beta version doesn't allow downloads yet. Good luck!
4 ★ great app, using daily, sometimes freezes but I like it anyway. I work a lot from office and need to print a lot papers from the app. are you going to create pc version? I tried to find it on the web but nothing coming up. I think for personally it is easier to use it on pc. giving 4 stars because I would love to see it on pc
1 ★ This would be a great app if I didn't have to trouble shoot it every other day...I couldn't imagine doing this job on paper, so I am grateful for this app. Just wish developers would get their act together and develop the app for android users instead of just porting over an iOS program. It is disgusting that you are forcing everyone to switch to iOS after the new year. I've never liked apple and probably never will. Android has always been the better operating system in my experience.
2 ★ Frustrating at times. Had to use it on a project for work. Apparently works like a charm for iOS but had constant issues on Android. Can only download one map at a time and even then only basemaps show and not the layers I need to see. Also ran into problems syncing data. Couldn't use it efficiently for its intended purpose.
4 ★ I'm having trouble on the iPad app with the new collector. Every time I'm sliding horizontally it just blanks out and turns theGPS on and starts tracking where I am. I want to edit on a remote location not exactly where I'm at. Is there a way to turn the GPS tracking off. the new Auto_ snapping is super ! it is definitely the most efficient work flow and we've been waiting for this 6 years! Know my field guys can truly fully edit and I don't have as much work . Thank you COLLECTOR SOFTWARE TEAM!
1 ★ Can't control screen orientation. App constantly switches between portrait and landscape between pages and menus, then during actual use forces you to work in landscape which requires holding the device with two hands. Even bottom tier apps from indie developers manage to program their apps to use the device's orientation, not sure why Esri can't figure this out
1 ★ Very difficult to download and go offline. Also, if you don't download the correct area you could be screwed as the app will not let you collect data outside of the area of download. I also can't figure out how to download additional areas, not a very user friendly app.
1 ★ This app freeze up when trying to download a map to work off line, are it want allow you to download the map at all. When you are trying to take pictures to download with the collector sometime it will allow you to do it and sometime it doesn't, you have to wait to long for a down load
1 ★ For android systems this app has been in what appears to be the first stages of beta testing for years. Everytime I switch from from a different app back to this one it will crash. If there was any other option for environmental work I would switch.
1 ★ I am facing constant problems logging in via this app. I cannot use Google account to login despite it being an offered option (as is Facebook). The app came up with invalid login credentials error message and then a session timed out error messages after I created a new account via the website. Very frustrating!
