Description
By using the PowerCheck app a User will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the Terms and Conditions which are available within the application.
ESB Networks Ltd. is a separate company within ESB responsible for:
• Connecting customers
• Metering services
• Other customer services associated with the construction, operation and maintenance of the electricity network
As managers of the electricity network, we provide services to all electricity customers in the Republic of Ireland irrespective of their electricity supply company.
We employ over 3,000 staff throughout the country.
As the independent Distribution System Operator (DSO), operating under licence from the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) in the Republic of Ireland, we are responsible for:
• Constructing all the sub-transmission, medium and low voltage electricity network infrastructure in the country
• Managing the national electricity network infrastructure (which is owned by ESB)
The electricity distribution network includes all distribution stations, overhead electricity lines, poles and underground cables used to bring power to more than 2 million domestic, commercial and industrial customers connected to the electricity network nationwide.
Through our role as the Transmission Asset Owner (TAO), we manage the transmission assets owned by ESB and ensure that its infrastructure is developed and maintained as required by the Transmission System Operator, Eirgrid. The TAO function is an integral part of our organisation.
Our role as the country's Meter Operator means that we are responsible for installing, maintaining and reading all electricity meters for domestic, commercial and industrial customers nationwide.

1 ★ App needs updating. Old android version cant get my location and my GPS is turned on. That's Ireland for you. !
1 ★ Cannot use the app as the software does not support newer android phones and there's no software update as yet. 20/8/2020. 👎🏻
5 ★ Works really well, I've had it on my phone for 2 years now and found the map and the estimated time for repair accurate. Much more useful than asking a neighbour if their power is off as well or trying to get through on a busy phone line. Well done ESB
1 ★ it is the most useless app that I have tried - example - having no power for 24 hours - you would imagine that the app would first of all let you know where it is - secondly - when it might be resolved - but no - the app doesn't let you know unless you live in Enniscorthy - the rest of Wexford doesn't seem to exist - no power means no Broadband so the app won't work - ask yourself why the app only gets 3.5 as a score
1 ★ Dated app, not well maintained, complains about "being built for older android versions" on Android 9 (which is current). Planned outages are not updated consistently by ESB. This is as pointless as a waste of tax money goes.
1 ★ absolutely horrendous to use. hasnt been updated since 2017. Totally behind technology. disgraceful for a national energy provider to promote this for costumers when it doesent work properly as a form of information!
1 ★ Serves no purpose so far as I can see. If there is a power outage in my area, turning on/off the lights is a good indicator of power supply. I have Never had the experience of just my house losing power on its own, always as part of a scheme/estate/area.
5 ★ Great app. Huge credit to ESB Networks. Gave ALL the local information required and promised night of Storm Brendan Jan 2020. Refreshing in a country with appallingly low standards in such matters almost always. Fair play again to ESB Networks
3 ★ meh. no way to report a fault, still have to dial a number and enter the mprn which ofcourse is never at hand. having app save mprn and being able to report a fault with one click is a must.
5 ★ After having a major fault in my area last night lasting about an hour and a half(could have been longer)couldn't get any news about it online so I decided to finally install this app from my wishlist and got the info I just wanted to know,straight away.
5 ★ very helpful to see if a fault is reported and the estimated time of the fault being fixed.
4 ★ After using this a few more times I have to say it does work well and the ESB in fairness do fix faults exceptional quick most of the time.
3 ★ The app is a little dated but shows a useful info on the power outage in my area and its estimated restoration time.

1 ★ When I open I'm told that the app was developed for an older version of android, there is no update available. As a result I find the app useless.
