2 ★ Bug #1 - Ok button on the time picker (bottom right) is invisible. Bug #2 - when setting a comfort setting via a smart home device the hold is indefinite regardless of the setting to resume at next scheduled event. Why don't you show what equipment is running on the main app screen? Being that ecobee has been around for a while it's discouraging to see that simple things like landscape mode don't exist.
1 ★ Sucks big time. 1, Have to go to the wall unit to turn on fan for a specified period of time. Ecobee sucks big time in making a rather useless app. 2, comfort settings don't have fan time percentage setting. On this regard, ecobee wall unit and App sucks equally. 3, eco+ is such an immature lousy feature and it sucks that ecobee forced it onto users. In a word, ecobee sucks, big time. They hold little regard for its customers.
1 ★ I Would never buy again! Constant Pop Up Spam Ads! Developer :Yes, Stop continus pop up advertising. I paid enough for your thermostat, I should not have to deal with advertising to control it! Continues with unsolicited advertising forced on the application! What a bunch of BS! You can't get the application to correctly control my thermostat, but at least I get Spammed with your advertising. Like I would ever buy from ecobee again. Should have gone with Google / Nest. Worthless "What's New".
1 ★ Just installed this app. Click to sign in, but THE APP OPENS MY BROWSER to the generic ecobee homepage. Okay, I'll go along. Find a place to sign in on the homepage, and do so. My ecobee settings come up, but are far too tiny to read on my newer phone's hi-res screen. Close out everything, re-open app, click sign-in again, and APP STILL ONLY OPENS MY PHONE'S BROWSER to the ecobee homepage. Many other issues. TIME WASTED. MORE UNPAID WORK TIME BY US CONSUMERS TO HELP OTHERS PROFIT.
1 ★ First off I've been an ecobee user for over 5 years now and love the product what prompted me to write a review is the last update to it broke the system now it does whatever it wants resets my comfort level settings, you can't set a schedule period you can only set the clock to the preset time, the temperatures are whatever they want I'm worried the thermostat might send the wrong message to my heatpump and cause damage. Ecobee get on it because this is a real issue.
4 ★ Updated: The app still works with my Ecobee 2. The issue seemed to stem from the temporary outage that Ecobee was experiencing yesterday. It does still concern me that if for some reason I ever need to re-add my Ecobee 2, the app seems to have no way of doing so as the instructions only apply to newer models. Working for now though again, so all is good 🙂
3 ★ App has been fine until now. Everytime I try to use the app, it shows my normal screen and settings and then randomly switches to a screen that says add a device. No devices in your home. Flashes back to my normal screen and then back to the add a device screen. No matter how many times I register it, it keeps doing the same thing. Great product, terrible software.
1 ★ Do not buy this product. This company has proven time and time again that this app always fails when you need it most. Whenever there's a hot day, you can guarantee that the server will fail and you will not be able to log in remotely. I have submitted multiple compliants about excessive downtime and nothing has improved over the last 2 years.
1 ★ The app is not intuitive, the basics need to be easy...set and hold a temperature should be simple and setting the vacation schedule has a bug. When setting return time the final ok button is hidden and I don't mean just difficult to find, it's not shown. It's in the lower right corner of minute box...I just happen to hit it by tapping out of frustration. When I hit the button it illuminated for a brief second.
1 ★ Update: App no longer works and has been locked and ransomed by non other than Ecobee. On start, user gets the slide show for eco+. It appears the only way to get back to the app is to enable eco+. This portion of the product is completely broken and significantly devalues the product. Pulling mine offline immediately to ensure they don't do anything crazy, like lock and ransom the thermostat's firmware.
1 ★ The app is still buggy - after adding two thermostat devices it is now telling me to add a device and that no devices have been added. Thermostat won't let me add the device again. Update comments say this bug is fixed, but that's not my experience. Will update review if fixed. Thanks!
1 ★ I have an account and a thermostat. I wanted to use the app so I could access these remotely, I apparently need to do more than use my account which is already set up... Set up a "home" and then reregister my device which is already accessible via a browser. Poor design and way too much setup involved for a system that is already in place.
2 ★ Can't change the schedule! It doesn't work with the clock nor keyboard. The moment I tap out of the time setting, anything I set just disappears. Stupid thing keeps cooling into the night when I don't need cooling anymore, so it's worse than having a non-smart thermostat.
1 ★ It is forcing me to enable some new feature. This is a horrible, horrible user experience. Tell me about the feature and show me how sure, but being forced has me looking at other thermostats this morning. It's too bad as I was always a fan. But they've lost my trust now. I understand I can disable it after I complete my forced enabling but that's not the point. I shouldn't be forced in the first place. This thing is going in the trash.
4 ★ Works well but I want to see runtime reports on my phone, not just my tablet. Get on it. 2 years later still don't have this function. Have to login via browser. *Vacation settings and deletion are not working via app as of 6.23.21
