What's new in PCGen Character Importer 1.3j
This is due to an issue with Dropbox Chooser which was returning DIRECT_LINK instead of FILE_CONTENT.
Some users may experience an app crash on first load of the Document Picker due to legacy code issues, but subsequent attempts should be successful.

PCGen Character Sheet allows you to import .xml files generated by PCGen to create dynamic character sheets for use on your Android device.
If you want a character sheet app for your device but don't want to enter all the information manually onto your device, PCGen can do all the hard work of creating your character for you, and then just use email or Dropbox to import it into the App and make your character sheet mobile.
When you want to level up, just update your character on PCGen, email/Dropbox it to yourself and re-import!

Things to note:
*Read the help screen on first load - it answers most questions!
*All code used to make the character sheets look familiar to PCGen users, is my own.
*CMB - the app detects whether your imported CMB Stat value is the same as your STR or DEX modifier, to determine which stat should affect it through Stat Linking (due to certain feats, whether you character size is Tiny etc...)
*Conditional Save and Combat modifiers don't appear to actually be exported in the .xml, which is why the boxes will be empty, the boxes are present however to balance out the look and feel of the character sheet, and in preparation in case the information is exported in the future (though an app update would be required to read it).
*Stat Linking does not affect damage done by bows, as the .xml does not identify Composite bows, if the name and description is custom and did not use the word "Composite" the app would have no way of knowing so this was omitted.
*There is no ammo tracking as the .xml does not provide enough information to efficiently do this.
*If you have you imported a problematic .xml file and the app crashes everytime it loads, use the app settings in android to clear data associated with the app.
*Use the csheet_fantasy_generic_export.xml template to create your .xml file, all .xml files need to have the word PCGEN somewhere in the file name (upper/lower/mixed case is fine), and the extension must remain .xml, the app will try to read the files from default Downloads directory of your device, which is where email applications such as GMail should save files to by default.

4 ★ The app works more or less as described. It's not super user friendly but not too hard to get working if you have a little knowledge. I would definitely pay a bit more if it let you apply conditions on the fly. That's the main thing missing compared to using herolab for me.
3 ★ First of.. Why is it so closely connected to Dropbox?? The app located a local file, but won't load it.. That is ridicules.. Second, why can't you edit some things?? The only way to advance to a new level, is to start PCGen up on a PC, and enter the new stats. Export the character. Upload file to Dropbox. Import the new file. Delete the old record... :-(
5 ★ Only thing I can say is that current gold and xp do not port over.. other than that it's flawless!
4 ★ I bought the app after using the lite version, I want to support more features in it in the future, having exp/gold and hopefully level ups someday, keep it up
1 ★ Export file extensions are not available. Does not work.
4 ★ This app is great as long as you do not need to update or add anything to the PC during a session. My husband loves the dice rolling feature, until he rolls a few critical fails on fear or spell resistance during a session, then he breaks out his dice. Only request, add something to put in notes that will save to PCGEN for the PC and/or equipment.
5 ★ It just does exactly what the description tells you, and does it quickly and with no issues. Even my overly complicated 18th level Mythic Tier 6 Faerie Dragon Unchained Monk/Lore Warden Fighter/Soul Taker Stalker imported without issue. Awesome stuff, and looking forward to updates!
3 ★ I like this app. I could be a great app, but I think I ran into a bug on my Samsung Galaxy tablet - Android version 4.2.2. I imported a character which works fine until I access his spell sheet, then it crashes and won't restart. Uninstall and reinstall is the only option. The character has no spells per se, but has a few spell-likes from items. If anyone knows why this is happening, I'd be glad to know. Without this problem I'd give it 5 stars.
5 ★ I love this product and can not wait to see the V2. This app proved over my last 18 hours of gaming to help simplify all my attacks. I just wish that there was a tab added on here that could auto apply buffs or other effects. Would come in handy because you can not actually change your damage output only your attack its self.
4 ★ I'd give it a 5 star but for some reason I can't add my weapon bonus to attack roll only see base bonus, I'd like a die on attack page. But other than that. Nice
4 ★ This app is great but it won't stay open after loading a character. It makes the app unusable
5 ★ Great program! I really like the way it looks - like a character sheet. It would be really great if there where individual notes for each character, but the regular Notes works fine as it is. I'm looking forward to version 2, but for now, version 1 meets all my needs!
3 ★ If you didn't have to use Dropbox it would be better.
4 ★ It's great! I would like to see the ability to make your character on the app but other than that, it's fantastic :D
