Description
Online parental control is more and more top of mind for everyone in recent years. According to research, 72% of children aged between 8-17 have smartphones and 80% of teenagers use smartphones for social networking on a daily and hourly basis. This means that kids are really vulnerable in the online world, being exposed to bullies and vicious online predators. According to the same research, 30% of the participating kids admitted that they have been faced with cyberbullying while using their phones.
This leads us to the conclusion that almost no one is taking care of children’s safety on the Internet properly.
So we created Meerkiddo, a swiss army knife in parental control, with the purpose of filling all the gaps that exist in this field. It is a very cozy, both child and parent friendly Android app with the largest number of features in the global market in this moment. In other words, it is a one stop shop for parents who care for their children safety on the internet.
The name of the app came by blending the words “kid” and “meerkat”, together forming the word Merkiddo. Why a meerkat? A meerkat is a well-known animal from a famous cartoon and is also one of the most social, cooperative and protective animals in the world. The perfect spirit animal for what our application does!
Our core features:
Our app uses Accessibility services and Device Administrator permission so that parents can track their child’s location (real-time and past-time locations), schedule alarms and reminders on the child’s phone, check battery level, lock child’s phone remotely, create app usage blacklist and whitelist and even schedule the usage of certain apps, for example the parent can permit access to Facebook only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 8pm.
A parent can choose to be notified whenever their child types previously forbidden keyword on its phone, or to even block certain websites from their child’s scope of accessibility. Also, geofence technology enables one of our greatest protection tools which allows the parent to mark safe area on the map and if their child leaves this area the parent can choose to be instantly notified of this action.
The child’s phone is actually combination of multiple IoT devices in one, and we turn that into a premium parent control and surveillance poweradmin system.
By developing this app we wish to emphasize the rising problem of children’s online safety and to prevent our children from being cyberbullied. Children cyberprotection and online parental control is something that will increasingly gain in importance as the time goes by, so why not take appropriate steps in a timely manner to prevent possible and irrevocable damage?

2 ★ I loved this app but ever since you up dated the app it glitches and unblocks apps that I had blocked and you can no longer read text messages or see phone calls.
4 ★ Some times GPS is not working. At times I get a error saying unable to connect or sort. But mostly good!
1 ★ This app will no longer allow me to sign in and cant even be removed. I should have been notified of the changes and how to get this off of my childs cell.
3 ★ My teenage son is going through some emotional stuff right now and it is nice to know I can make sure he is not getting himself into more trouble. But lately the app has not been syncing and I am not getting any updates on his current texts. I have checked his phone to compare and the last text message on the app from his phone is over a month old. I have rebooted my phone and refreshed the app several times but I am still not getting any of his current texts. Is there a way to fix this?
1 ★ Im unable to delete the app and it locked me out of my daughters phone. This app has been nothing but a problem and now my daughter doesn't have a phone until this gets figured out.

4 ★ I am daddy of 2 beautiful daughters. The younger is a trouble maker. Hard to drive a balance between studies HW and screen time. This app has been perfect. It's given us an understanding and she is learning to follow. Smiling infront of me as I type this. ♥️. Thank you to dev to keep this free. Everything works as expected. The parent devise is a note 8 and kid device is a Dell KitKat

4 ★ This is a great start, I'm looking forward to see what the premium version adds. The call and SMS logs work great. One thing I'd like to see is in the SMS log the numbers should be converted to the contact name. The log would be much more readable that way. I'm not sure how the web history works either as it does not show any visited web sites in the app even after I used the browser on the target phone. Otherwise this app is great for a free offering!
