Telugu samethalu (సామెతలు) has a huge collection of proverbs in telugu (తెలుగు) language.
సామెతలు లేదా లోకోక్తులు (Proverbs) ప్రజల భాషలో మరల మరల వాడబడే వాక్యాలు. వీటిలో భాషా సౌందర్యం, అనుభవ సారం, నీతి సూచన, హాస్యం కలగలిపి ఉంటాయి. సామెతలు ఆ భాష మాట్లాడే ప్రజల సంస్కృతిని, సాంప్రదాయాలను ప్రతిబింబిస్తాయి. "సామెత లేని మాట ఆమెత లేని ఇల్లు" అంటారు. సామెతలకు ఏ ఒక్కరినీ రచయితగా చెప్పలేము. ప్రజలు తమ అనుభవాల్లోనుంచే సామెతలను పుట్టిస్తారు.
