App permissions

TappCar 1.4.17 APK requires following permissions:

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows an application to modify global audio settings.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

2 ★ was a great app not a problem in booking a car. i used it exclusively. Since the "NEW" and improved update recently I cannot book a car before it crashes. Support has been emailing me to ask questions but nothing has been resolved. it has been soooooo frustrating. It's now October and still has crashing issues. Same old, same old issues. I would have hoped the app would have been fixed by now.

1 ★ Old app worked like a charm for me every time. The new version is terrible. I installed the new version, and now it kicks me out and makes me sign in, again, after every ride. And neither the app or I can remember my password. But when I request a password reset, it says to check my email - and nothing ever arrives in my email. So terrible!

1 ★ The new app is terrible. It doesn't give you the color or picture of vehicle you are waiting for, I had to submit a negative review 4 times for it to finally go through, and finally, I realized that the trip I had taken a month ago had not been completed because it was waiting for me to review him! Not once did it prompt me to open the app to review, so the poor guy could get paid. I finally gave him his tip a month later because it's not done automatically anymore.

5 ★ Great app to use in Winnipeg. Customer service is absolutely helpful and kind when dealing with sensitive issues, Just clear on the issue. The odd pre-authorisation charge is understandable since people don't like to pay for rides. The drivers are great when it comes to service. If you have any concerns just message them, they are always available to help out. Thanks for coming to Winnipeg

1 ★ I tried to book a ride and it charged me, but then immediately refunded me and told me to try a different card. Then after I restarted the app, I couldn't even enter an address; it would give me a message that just said "Error" as soon as I started typing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and now it gives me a "Server Error" and nothing works.

1 ★ Just used the new app for the first time tonight. It kept crashing, it said my driver had arrived and he was not there yet. I tried using the in-app messaging and it didn't work. I couldn't cancel the ride without being charged $4, which normally I would understand but the issue was the app. The car tracking was not accurate and did not show where he was before or after picking up. I couldn't add a tip for the driver. I'm super unimpressed with the new app.

4 ★ App worked mostly fine. Had a trip with a stop in between. Sent a message with my initial ride request but the I talked with the driver and they did not receive it. It's cool you can see the driver's location and overall using the app was pretty easy. I thought I wasn't able to tip but the option comes after giving a review.

3 ★ Its an okày app. However, it has some minor bugs that are frustrating and annoying! It makes me wonder how the old TappCar app had functioned considering how nonfunctional this version seems to be whenever i attempt to use it. My advice to anyone who is considering using this app; make sure to take the time to wait for the app to work itself out when attempting to book a ride. I find that it takes a few minutes of attempts for the app to recognize addresses but it eventually will work.

1 ★ The previous version was much better. It was cheaper, had price estimates for trips and did not require a destination to book a ride if it was a round trip. After finding out about the new changes, I removed my card info from the app and the app from my phone only to find a .50 cent fee that came out of my bank from tappcar and I didnt even book anything - only signed into the app and decided to close out of it. watch out for this silent charge. DISAPPOINTED to say the least

1 ★ As a frequent user, I'm disappointed that TappCar never notified me that they were switching apps. I only found out after the old app stopped working and I asked a friend who told me about a text they got from TappCar about the new app. I always reserve a car in advance so I'm not happy to find that it's not possible in the new app, even with the new update. I have to go back to taxis until this is fixed.

1 ★ I had no problem with the old app, I installed the new one and I was unable to use it. Said I didnt enter a payment option yet all my info and account was there. Tried to make new accnt but was unable because my email was used for old accnt..deleted Visa then re-entered with no luck....tried everything then gave up so I was unable to get a car/ride. **just deleted app and reinstalled, still can't delete old account so I've just downloaded reryde app and its awesome, bye bye tappcar

5 ★ Great service, on time pickup and cheaper than any other cab sharing services

1 ★ App is broken, do not download it and use it! It steals your money with no way to refund it. I attempted to book a trip but the app gave me a notice that I had an unpaid balance in my wallet, although I had just created a new account moments before. I figured that I just needed to preload money into my wallet to fix the issue, so I loaded $20 in to the account and it gives me the same error. This app is broken, do not use it! Take a taxi instead.

4 ★ I like tappcar but many drivers incorrectly believe them to be cheaper than taxis. This is not true. As someone who uses a taxi to get home from work four nights a week, I can say that the price is IDENTICAL (at least in Manitoba). The only benefit to me, especially now that all the taxis have tracking apps is being able to pay with a credit card via the app. Also drivers cannot make stops like taxis/Uber can - a major downside for me. Edit: this app also sucks.

1 ★ This new app is awful. If you ask it to pick you up at your current location it can't necessarily find you, it doesn't always tell you that your ride has been accepted and then suddenly there's a driver sitting outside waiting for you, and sometimes it tells there are no cars available but you can see a bunch near you on the map. Also, TappCar is now more expensive than a taxi.
