Description
The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.
The app offers built-in streaming options: use Pandora, AM/FM and Internet radio, DLNA servers, Deezer, Songza, or local content. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.
The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, or stream to all of them at once.
Please note that the Definitive app is companion software to the Definitive Technology Wireless Collection, and other products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.

1 ★ Not intuitive, and need to periodicaly reboot after it hangs. Mostly sreaming on Spotify. It really sucks when this happen when entertaining, much less at any other time. I really hate that it isn't integrated with my Sony Bravia. Except for being able to turn the sound on with my tv and cable remote (which gets out of synch), I have to have the sound bar remote with me whenever we're watching tv.
1 ★ This app is absolute GARBAGE. If you are considering using this RRUUN! This is supposed to be a high end item but it fails every single time, the app has been updated several times but it is still GARBAGE .. drops signal nonstop. The worst part is that this is NOT new technology, all if DT competitors have already figured out how to make this work ... years ago! If I was DT I would drop it completely instead of embarrassing myself
2 ★ Sometimes works great. Other times terrible. Terrible connectivity. Crashes every time after I play one song in the music player.
1 ★ After firmware update 2.060, play-fi can no longer detect w studio micro as master to set up dts surround anymore. Wireless still works, but keeps saying master speaker not detected even though i can wirelessly line-in with it.
2 ★ Glitchy programming. Had 2 Def-Tech W Studio’s but upgraded to a full entertainment system in the living room because playing music through the unit is not enjoyable at all. Two updates ago, the system worked great and sounded like the quality Def-Tech is known to produce and that was because the unit was only using the left and right channel when on Play-Fi. All 3 channels sound amazing when watching movies but the center should never be on when playing music. Play-Fi should just be 2 channels.
1 ★ Can't connect to my Studio Micro system after last update.
1 ★ Give the Phorus app a try instead of the Definitive Technology app. Both apps have the same functionality. I stumbled setting up the Definitive Technology sound bar using the Definitive Technology app. I read on the Internet that the Phorus app seems to work better. Once I got the sound bar up and running with the Phorus app, I am able to use both the Phorus app and the Definitive Technology app to play music on the sound bar.
1 ★ App hangs on trying to download a firmware update. Researched Definitive support and they recommended using the Definitive utility app to update firmware. I was able to successfully update firmware with utility app and verified update was installed successfully. Went back into this app and it still hangs on trying to download firmware. Not able to stream music :-(.
1 ★ Definitive Technology continutes to sell Wirelss products that need this app, but also need the Definitive Utility app for upgrades. The Definitive Utility Aapp is no longer listed i Google Play. So, no upgrades even though Definitive products alert users that upgrades are needed for functionality.
1 ★ This app WAS working at one point. Until Difinitive Technology made an update and now nothing works.
1 ★ Setup for w7 device was difficult and app is extremely limited. Can't play my podcasts or audio books despite being Amazon compatible... apparently audible is not a compatible app. Audio is only saving grace. Only buy the w7 if you only listen to spotify
2 ★ Takes forever to find a player on the network --- even one that it's used before. Faster to use a different app with uPnP support. Can't you just remember the IP address, Definitive?
1 ★ constantly loses signal even though the wifi indicator light on the speaker shows it is connected. why no bluetooth connectivity?!
1 ★ Connecting/reconnecting a device to WiFi works at best 1/10 attempts
1 ★ Can't connect the app to the speaker if you're using Wi-Fi mesh. What year is it?
