Download the latest EuroVelo 6: The Danube Route application, version 2.2.1, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Travel & Local app is developed by Danube Competence Center and is easy to download and install.
Previous versions, including 2.2.1, are also available. If you need help or have any problems, please let us know.
Description
Main features:
- GPS data for Danube Cycle Route – almost 3,000 km long part of EuroVelo 6 that follows the Danube from Black Forest until Black sea
- Let’s ride – riding mode in which the data is shown automatically while you’re riding, based on your location
- Route planner – planning mode where the data is shown based on selected starting point and chosen direction, ideal for getting quick overview what to expect on the road within following kilometres
- Help section – detailed description of all data categories and values, quite useful until you got used to our app icons
- Main / all data switch – choose whether you want only main or all data to be shown; main data is collected on 1km basis and it will provide you with crucial info such as road type and width, surface material and quality, riding direction, observed traffic congestion and speed limits for motorized traffic (in case you’re sharing the road). Other data is usually collected on 5km basis and includes 11 additional data categories

5 ★ This application was very useful for us - four of us did the part from Budapest to Linz last month and it was great for planning and getting the idea about the riding conditions along the route; some tourism highlights should be added also but the main function is helpful
4 ★ Very good for orientation on the trail, especially when signage is not great. Wish the other functions worked better but its main purpose worked great and saved us a few times.
2 ★ The app does not allow you to plan routes and estimate distances and cycle times of stages. Those are the features I downloaded the app for but they are not available.
3 ★ The biggest drawback is that the map is not correct. There is no main routes, alternative routes, detures on map... just that one. It would be great if the POI were visible on the map. It is better to download GPX, and used some GPS app. Edit : Thx for fast replay. As someone who has crossed the Danube route through Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and part of Bulgaria, I would really like to have all the routes marked on the map. Why ride in Hungary, but not in Slovakia? Why ride in Croatia, not in Serbia? Why ride through Bulgaria, and not through Romania? In August this year I plan to go to the whole EuroVelo 6 route from Saint-Nazaire to Constanta and so far is the best solution download and upload the GPX to navigation app. I hope so that the new version of EV6 : Danube Cycle Route will be better :)
4 ★ please keep improving its sooo important this app! I'm using it right know but it needs some bug fixes und the rout has to be updated! all in all very helpful thanks for this application
1 ★ This app doesn't work - crashes every time you open it - don't waste your time downloading it.
