Learn to master major and minor scales quickly with Scale Logic.

When first learning to play a musical instrument, scale key signatures can appear very confusing but Scale Logic helps to illustrate that this is not the case. This unique app gives you an alternative and fresh approach to learning major and minor scales based around the tones and semitones found within a scale.

Within a major and minor scale, the pattern of tones and semitones (the musical intervals) are fixed from the starting note to the end note. This fixed pattern can be applied to any starting note to demonstrate how a scale is constructed. Using this fixed pattern and while looking at piano keys, you can see how a scale's key signature is derived. For example, by placing the fixed pattern of musical intervals at the starting note of the G major scale (note G) you would play a series of white notes until you reached he black note of F#. Therefore the key signature of G major is F#.

This fixed pattern shows you which notes must be played to make a scale and the sharps/flats which give the scale its identity.

1 ★ Distracting interface. All the transparent layers make it difficult to read. The unlabelled flats are confusing to newbies. The key signatures only seem to be in the G clef, but that's not labelled so once again, not great for beginners. Needs F and C clefs at least. The fact that the notes don't change to the correct enharmonics when in keys that demand E sharp, B sharp, C flat or F flat makes this entirely useless as a teaching aid. The concept is good but it doesn't deliver the content in an accurate or easy to read format. A long way to go.

5 ★ Really good app, easy and intuitive layout. Im a producer but of course i cant remember every scale off the top of my head, so its usefull having this tool at the ready when i want to experiment with some new scales.

5 ★ Great scale app for all instruments. Love it.

5 ★ Very good explain musical scales.

5 ★ Great app

2 ★ You can not 'teach' someone this kind of musical theory without any explanation of what you are showing them. In this form, this app is hardly useful.

5 ★ Surprisingly well put together, easy to understand best of all no pesky tutorial or 3rd party sites involved. Much respect to the developer.

3 ★ I like it but it doesn't really teach you anything I mean you can hear and see it but in retrospect to a piano or sheet music I wouldn't know where to start and same with the notes o.o if you are new to the whole music side of things this app is kinda confusing. I want to learn the piano one day or be able to read sheet music maybe this app will help

1 ★ Simplistic and naïve. There is no such thing as a natural minor. It's called Æolian mode. Where are the other modes of major and the minor scales? The Pentatonic shows 6 notes. In reality there is a five note Pentatonic and a six note blues scale. It would be good to look at a scale without it playing.

4 ★ What a cool concept! This app does an excellent job at helping to identify the intervals between scales. The only complaint I have is that, currently, notes which are sharp or flat only display a sharp or flat sigh instead of the note name.

5 ★ Perfect!

5 ★ this app is very good and helpful
