Download the latest Custom Maps application, version 1.8.6, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Travel & Local app is developed by Marko Teittinen and is easy to download and install.

Description
Custom Maps can use maps in JPG and PNG images and PDF documents.
You can find useful map images in national and state park brochures, many of which are available online. You can also take pictures of paper maps. You can create your own GPS map for the park from those before you get there, so you will know where the trails lead and where the facilities are.

For those who don't like to watch videos, here is a brief summary on how to create a map:
- Before opening Custom Maps, download a map image or PDF to your phone
- With Custom Maps, select the map file on your phone you want to turn into a GPS map
- Select two points on the map image and find the corresponding points on Google Maps
- Preview the map image overlaid on Google Maps to verify the map image is accurate
- Save the map to your phone
If you want to get creative, you could draw your own additional annotations on the jpg or png map image using some drawing app. Custom Maps does not provide image annotating features.
Privacy Policy
Custom Maps does not collect any personal information, and does not send any information from your phone or other Android device to any servers. All the functionality is performed on your phone without any data being sent to any servers.
Google Maps API is used in aligning the map images, so Google Privacy policy applies to that part. But Google Maps API is used anonymously to only display a map of the area on the map image. No personal information is sent to Google either.

4 ★ Very easy and intuitive to use. Please pretty please put a geo tracker, and it would be perfect. Works with pdf maps. Marko thanks for the prompt reply. I don't know how to use the custom map with a different geo tracker app. I really would like the ability to see my track on your custom map app. Another way would be to convert the custom map into a .kap or .bsb file so I can use Opencpn to create tracks on the .kap map
5 ★ Amazing app with a lot of features. But I have one request. Would it be possible that you add a feature where you can chose how you want to enter geocoordinates in a program - to explain, the way they are entered now is just that you pick the same location on google maps and on pdf map, but what i would like to see, is that you can enter google maps location in numbers (for example N30.23272, E035.2457), so you would just select points on your pdf map, and connect them with coordinate numbers?
5 ★ Nothing else like it. I use this every time I go on a backpacking trip. It's so nice to have a blue dot on a park map. Love the new features and UI.
5 ★ Very useful app as a taxi driver. I made whole London and if I have to be in a certain area just turn it on. The only problem the app doesn't support large files so it reduces the quality of the file I use. Hope it will be fixed
5 ★ Very cool app. Would be nice to be able to enter coords for tie points without data service. Integration with OSMAnd would be fantastic, but just being able to enter lat / lon directly world be good.
1 ★ Warning, many rating bots. This is not what it seems to be. When you load in it asks you to load a image of a map. I didn't get much further than that. Way too confusing. It goes to your folders on your phone. It doesn't even go straight to you image folder. You have to find it.
5 ★ Excellent app! allows you to import an image of any map, easily georeference it, and this use with your gps to show where you are on the map. limitation: wont import PDF or TIFF -- only JPG
1 ★ It did not work at all and I did not know what to do with my images. Edit: This review was written on a Chromebook. I didn't try this app on a Chromebook. The issues listed above were from when I was using Custom Maps on my phone.

4 ★ This game is good but sometimes when I pick a photo I see preview then glitches happen and the game stopps but this game is still awesome more than that!
1 ★ track(polyline) support? i placed polyline instead of placemark in same folder of kmz? app is not of much use without overlays of polylines and placemarks on it. hope to see these features soon
