3 ★ Galaxy tab has built-in function that allows you to select auto brightness and then set the relative brightness that the screen will try to produce in any ambient lighting situation. This is great. This widget not only doesn't have that function but disables it on the tablet. ITS AUTO FUNCTION IS WAY DIM, USELESS. All I want is a widget that takes me immediately to the tabs own brightness settings, which are more versatile. Also, WHY DOES THE WIDGET, LIKE ALL CURVE FISH PRODUCTS, NEED FILE & IDENTITY PERMISSIONS???
5 ★ Just what I wanted, a quick way to access the brightness level. A good alternative to Android's lack of a quick way to access this most used functionality. PS: follow instructions in this page carefully to get rid of the ad that first appears. It took me a couple of times to get rid of it. HTC Desire
5 ★ includes "auto" setting which (as of now) is not visible on the screenshots here. the 'close on exit' button closes the app once you've made your choice - very useful and something that other apps need to steal for sure. nice design. other similar widgets available. the only drawback: no timeout widget similar to this one has been made available... yet.
5 ★ Ok so the Developers at LG who released the latest Firmware update thought the brightness adjustment slider wasn't necessary and removed it from the pull down notification on the home screen. This App itself is perfect but can't compare to the integrated brightness slider. The way I have configured this app is I've put a widget on the top left of ALL of my phone screens(5 total)so no matter whatever page I am, I can simply tap the top left & adjust. Simple & I love it. Thank you 2 the curvefish devs! LG G2
4 ★ It is a useful app. You can quickly set the brightness level in one or two clicks. It would have been even greater if there was a option to set customizable levels (eg: 35%, 65% etc). I am facing the following issues on my Samsung Note II. 1) Touching the widget sometimes takes me to the display settings screen. 2) Touching fast on the widget sets the brightness level to 100% without bringing up any screen.
4 ★ It's the best out there but it still needs a custom preset. I find that 25% is no lower than what my Auto does and is still too bright but the slider lets me set it to 10% which is perfect. What's this about no sense UI? works fine on Thunderbolt.
4 ★ This widget is exactly what I needed to moderate the brightness in order to save battery. The Exhibit 2 does not have auto brightness (go figure) so its not the devs fault that it doesn't work. While it would be nice to be able to adjust the presets I am none the less happy with it.
3 ★ Would be 5/5 if the help screen didn't pop-up every time I use the widget. I downloaded this to have a quick 2-tap change to the brightness, but while the widget pop-up itself disappears after selecting a brightness, the help screen sticks around until I hit home/back.
5 ★ Some reviews on here are stupid and miss the point. Kevin says it's not as good as Dimly or Night Screen. Well this isn't meant to be one of those screen FILTER apps duh, it's just a quick, simple, convenient way of selecting your preferred brightness level from some handy options. The results are obviously tied to the system's default scale. Saves you going into settings. It doesn't claim to be something it's not like many apps. Amazing how some people can't understand or appreciate such a useful app.
5 ★ I bought a used Verizon LG G2 VS980 and found that even with the phone's brightness setting at 100%, the screen was very dim and causing eye strain. This app works amazingly well and has fixed the problem. Very user-friendly too.
4 ★ It's good except one small glitch. It doesn't bring the brightness all the way down. When it shows 0% still 1 lvl of brightness remains which i turn down from settings. Then it's widget shows -1% which is strange. Fix it and you get 5 stars from me.
1 ★ I downloaded this because I simply CANNOT live with the auto dimmer when the battery gets low. But this app doesn't work at all if the battery is low (which is the only time you need it!), so it's useless.
4 ★ One bug: it stores the last percentage set through the app instead of reading it. Thus, after a change through another app, an incorrect number is displayed. I'd like to set the values for the buttons myself. I never use 100% (once on a direct sun on snow), rather 15%.
4 ★ I got tired of having to go to the settings to change the screen brightness all the time and then I found this app. It works great and is exactly what I needed. The only thing that keeps this from being a five-star app is the lack of a customized percentage button function. But other than that it's a great app.
2 ★ My Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is very bright, even when it's on 0%, so I tried this app, and it doesn't bring it down. I'm giving it two stars, however, because when I owned an LG GX2 (horrible old phone), it was a must-have.
