FEATURES:
- Images, distribution maps and text descriptions of over 950 bird species found in the Southern African region.
- Audible calls for over 630 bird species
- A "Smart Search" that allows you to easily identify a bird using beak shape, bird size, bird colour and habitat.
- You can select a region of Southern Africa, so that the lists of birds throughout the program display only the birds in your region. Includes GPS detection of your current location.
- "Bird Compare" to allow you to compare two birds on the same screen (including calls).
- A personal bird list that stores your bird sightings saved to the device and can be exported to your storage card, email or to your Google Drive account online.
- GPS location tagging of bird sightings.
- View the Bird Index by English or Afrikaans bird names.
* Uninstalling/reinstalling the program will result in the loss of your list, it is recommended that you keep a backup from the application (My List -> Export).

3 ★ After the new update the UI is something to get used to. One issue though is if I click on the bird name in my personal list it briefly flash a white page then takes me back to the home screen. If I search for the bird and open it, then it works.

1 ★ Kindly ask the authors to give you guys the information on the name changes to be able to keep the application up to date. This is no excuse that the people doing the maintenance on the app wait for a new publication ; honestly ; the authors have to help you to keep the app up to date and not let people still pay for an app that isn't true to facts. There are birds name changes.... 3 years now.... That are still wrong. Please give the client true info. They pay for it
1 ★ This app is not the best, I mean where are all the birds. It Dosent even have all the birds like the book and here's the best part I got the book from a book shop ok, take a guess what I paid for it R310 and you want how much almost R400 no man, I understand that this app has all the bird sounds, well not all of them. But plz guys pull your finger out of your ass plz and make this app enjoyable for everyone including young birders. Thanx.........
3 ★ The app is missing a lot of birds. The smart search option doesn't work properly. For an expensive app I expect more. The look and feel of the app could also do with a bit more work. Being a young birder I am able to figure this app out and work around the bugs. For my more senior birders, they must hate this app. Please can the developers sort this out. The point of the app is for ease of use, the way the app runs I might as well buy the book and do things the old way ...
1 ★ October 2017 - still trying to get this fixed.This has become a complete joke! Support useless. Stopped working on Samsung tablet after latest update. Crashes when validating licence after installation. Please fix urgently. March 2017 - still waiting for this to be resolved - shocking service and support.
2 ★ Transferring and backing up of files/birds marked doesn't work well. Reloading my back ups is even worse. For the price of this app it's shocking how old and disfuntional it is.not user friendly.by now updates to the app should allow us to back up files to cloud services for ease of transferring handset devices. Come on guys. Give us what we are willing to pay for. Update the app already.
1 ★ I have tried to re-intall this app on a new phone and keep getting a message that I am missing 839 files . I try to install these and then get a message that the software caused connection to abort. I have really enjoyed the app and would like to use it again. I've been struggling for months.
3 ★ The app is really great but i just got a new Samsung S8 and the app doesnt want to validate my license. Keeps saying "an error has occured java..... permition denied" please help
3 ★ App now keeps crashing Lost about 1Gb of data trying to download the photos. It doesnt pick up where it left off. Why is the app going backwards?
2 ★ I changed phones and reinstalled the app on the new phone. For some reason the additional file of photos won't install. It downloads about 50% then aborts. I would really appreciate some feedback from the developer on how to solve this problem. As requested I sent and email. Looking forward to a solution,.
1 ★ I had the Windows Mobile version before. Exporting that file gives no ID indexing. Without the ID field the Android version can't "see" the birds. Although the File imports, the bird list does not get recognised. Please help. 19/01/2017: I dropped a star rating as I Posted and eMailed this request to the vendor and so far not a trace of a response. Seems like there is no back up for this App. Other issues I found: In "My List" there is no place/location indicator. "Smart search" can't find birds, even if you know what it is and enter right criteria. Helmeted Guiney fowl took about 6 various options before eBirds Found It. I'm sorry I bought this App, seeing that Newmans just launched theirs at a much lower price with better search engine. 19 ourFeb 2017: Still no sign or hope of any advice or support from the developers. 4th September and no hope of developers coming back to me. OK... we're on 2 May 2018... still no reply from developer.
2 ★ Bought a new phone. Unable to reinstall. Says that I've paid and install and then it stops. Infuriating. How do I get help for this problem. Nov 2018
