1 ★ For years I used the app without issue. The only problem I had was that when it first came out, there were no step free routes but then shortly after I made the suggestion it was implemented (whether that was because of my suggestion or something citymapper already had in the works I don't know..). Then since the app updated itself a few days ago, I can't even get it to open, the app just crashes. It's such a shame because I loved how accurate, funny and adjustable the app was. Moovit it is then
5 ★ I use CityMapper often! I generally know what train or bus I need to take, but I use it mostly for the timeframe. This app lets you know what time you should leave your location, what time the bus/ train will arrive, if there are any delays/ detours, how many stops there will be, where to board the train so you'll be at the best exit, what stop to get off, what is the best exit to use, & what is the projected time for you getting to your destination. It gives options for more than 1 route. ❤
5 ★ Citymapper is easy to use, and essential for getting around a city like London. Saving your points of interest and sharing your ETA or similar details is super handy, and i find that the time estimate is more fitting (for me personally) than Google, as slightly less optimistic. The fact that the app alerts you before getting off, even underground is a lifesaver. I do generally believe one should have more than one app to be sure, but Citymapper is always my first choice for planning.
5 ★ Really helpful app that has a stunning appearance about it. It brings all the information that I would need about my local transport into one and is something I use each morning to track when my bus is due. Clearly a lot of time has been spent perfecting it.
3 ★ Great app that helps plan a commute. 3 stars because occasionally the app will say the train is in 6 minutes when it's actually arrived or it'll tell you that a bus is due and that bus never arrives. I suspect this has more to do with TfL being unreliable than Citymapper being broken, however it has a knock on effect on Citymapper's reliability. If the app wasn't plagued with phantom busses and trains it would have 5 stars from me.
1 ★ Loved this app when I lived in London and was pleased to hear that Leeds was now included. I redownloaded, but Leeds does not yet work, despite it being listed on the app as a location. It always says that I'm not in the location listed and if I try to do a journey route in Leeds, it says the start/end points are not in the location. Clearly it is still programmed to just Manchester, despite now saying Manchester, Liverpool and Yorkshire.
5 ★ very rarely it will tell me a bus is comming when it isnt, but I think that's more to do with the buss having problems, not the app, app is usually very up to date, even when there is a diversion and the bus is going a new route, citymapper is up to date with the brand new route. Very happy with the app.
5 ★ excellent app for planing journey. it's only one that shows how much each fare for your journey is going to cost. it has short cuts and main rout, very helpful when your last minutes kind of guy.
5 ★ best in class navigation app. Particularly useful is the cycling navigation which allows you to choose fast or slow so as to optimise for speed or safety + peacefulness. I always choose the slow route and invariably this means a calmer, less polluted journey which takes just a few minutes longer.
4 ★ It has yet to beat BostonBusMap, but it certainly is "getting there," pun intended! Two features I would like to see: 1) Ability to just click on favorite stations and see ETAs. Right now, you can select favorites and it wants to NAVIGATE you TO them--I just want to know what the next ETAs are! 2) Tap more into the MBTA data feed so I know what bus/train roster number to look for, such as when the two new MBTA Orange Line trains are coming.
3 ★ Fairly good app for Sydney transport, although with a couple of consistent glitches for bus/light rail transport. Once journey is locked in, map jumps to the end, not the start. Also, in Eastern Suburbs, seems to neglect light rail options
5 ★ My daily goto app that I always recommend or insist others should be using if they intend to navigate around NYC via public transit. Now if only they would include multi-stop itineraries and additional means of customizing your trip, such as excluding specific train lines or bus routes.
5 ★ Absolute best app for figuring out how to get from place to place in London. It lacks the nearby venue information that Google Maps has but makes up in having much much more helpful travel time & pricing estimates for all kinds of different modes of transport. Citymapper Pass is also a steal for those who travel a lot!
5 ★ I use it in London and it's much better and more accurate than Google Maps. Also, I love the UX - makes the most common interactions (like 'go home') seamless and quick. Good job!
5 ★ Incredibly useful, and free. The ads are for carsharing services and the like, so they are not intrusive at all. I've been using the app for years and have never found a better alternative. 10/10
