Apple TV AirPlay:
- AirPlay must be enabled in settings
- Battery Optimization must be disabled for Android 6.0 Marshmallow and up, local cast of audio and photo not supported. MKV files not supported. Some urls formats not supported.

Some Smart TVs have Google Chromecast app (or DLNA) built-in:
according to this: https://www.google.com/chromecast/built-in/tv/
If you have any of those models, please check if it has one of the streaming receivers to see if it's compatible to cast to TV.

Castify does not modify the video sources. It only sends the original source to your streaming receivers. The app does not hosts any content. Therefore the compatibility and availability of the videos are dependent on the source websites themselves.

-This app only casts from websites that uses public format. Proprietary video & movie formats will not cast to TV.

-If a video is not playing or a disconnection occurs, it could be several reasons:
1. The ISP(Internet Service Provider)
2. The source website itself
3. Insufficient WIFI signal strength

Troubleshooting:
-Ensure your WIFI connection is stable and on the same network. Streaming online movies to TV requires a good internet connection.
-Most connection problems can be resolved by restarting the casting receivers or phone.
-Flash movie websites are not supported by stream device manufacturers.

Ratings and Reviews

1 ★ I wanted to like this but there's a lot of issues. File view doesn't work most of the time forcing me to rely on folder view which also doesn't refresh when there are file changes or additions. Casting despite turning off battery management still has trouble staying connected sometimes (at least on Roku). It's native Roku channel it's connected to is prone to freezing and crashing causing a lot of stops in playback.

1 ★ I tried using this to cast a movie from my Chromebook to my TV. After struggling with it for a few minutes I finally got my movie to play. However, anytime I paused the movie it would disconnect from the app. Then when I tried to play the movie again it just says "gone". 0 stars if I could. This app sucks. I'll just watch the movie from my Chromebook until I can reset my Chromecast.

1 ★ Can't even find the Roku ...... This is a response to the response you letting my previous no this is where I go to leave reviews and complaints not somewhere else not emailing anybody you do that here and then forward it to wherever you need to that's your job and it doesn't work on any device I have multiple so that excuse out the window it does cast to Chromecast and everything else that I don't have issues with as is with the native apps that you normally use no Roku TVs ever discoverable !!

4 ★ Decent app. Would prefer if only had file access while in use. But it either gets access or not. Also would like to see "Aloha find" as search engine option. Recently stopped auto playing next video on playlist, so need to go in app after each video to hit next. Also keeps deleted videos in its lists which obviously won't play. Wish I could give 5stars as a pro member, but it's just not there yet.

4 ★ Best of the casting apps I've tried, but it has a few shortcomings. Subtitles are automatically displayed if you rewind several times in a row and stays on for only a minute. But, there's no way to turn embedded ones on manually, only selecting an external file or searching the web and then a tap to turn it off, even if it's off already. Similar issues for changing the audio stream and files are all sorted by date with no way to change to alphabetical.

4 ★ It has the tendentcy to drop a perfectly good stream on android every so often 4.5 stars! On the other side, it works poorly on the iphone (I have both) too difficult to navigate. On iphone the app controls dont function properly, 2.5 maybe 3 stars you need to rewrite the script code for the app navigation function keys (rewriting maybe 1-10 lines)...

5 ★ If you have a device that has trouble screen casting to your TV, this is the ONLY app that has worked! It is a tiny bit confusing at first, but I just played around with it and it works great. HOWEVER, I have noticed that with every update it would work less and less often. The last update made it so NOTHING would work. I googled "castify app older version" and found they have every version available for free. I reinstalled an older version from last month and it is working great again :)

5 ★ It works great (so far). It works better than all of the apps I have used up to now. I have paid for a couple of other apps that seemed to work at first but would start sending ads after I had paid for "ad-free" or would stop connecting to my smart TV or would connect to Chromecast only even though they claim to work with a long list of devices. This app has none of those problems. It works flawlessly! ...so far.

2 ★ Was a 5 star rating now it's a 2. It used to work perfect. Now once I start streaming to my tv after a few minutes the picture on my tv goes back to the main menu & won't return to the movie unless I hit pause & then play again on my phone, but you can still hear the audio the whole time. After I end the streaming, my tv screen goes black, there's still sound but no picture. I can still see & access my settings menu so it's not my TV, it's the App. I have to shut my tv off for hours to fix it.

5 ★ I'm very picky when it comes to paying for free apps. I've had this one for close to a year to stream videos to Chromecast and Xbox Ones. I had tried several others prior, but often ran into the problem of either videos not playing or playing without sound. I have yet to run into that problem with Castify. It is my go to app for anything casting related. I cannot recommend it enough. Try out the free version. The ads aren't too bad and the devs deserve the money if you can't handle the ads.

5 ★ It took me messing around with the app to get it going. When I was trying to screen share, my football team was already playing after a grocery trip. I was being dumb & impatient. Once I wasn't as rushed & wanting it to be now, this app is incredible. It even gives you options for video quality. I didn't know that Roku had things like this until recently, but it is greatly appreciated. This is a must have for all Roku or hardware that supports it. All praise & awaiting new features.

5 ★ So much better than other casting apps that have too many faults and difficulties to go into, but even when the other casting apps actually work and stream, they sometimes buffer and stop mid movie where this one not only never buffers, but even when I accidentally hit the home button on my fire tv, it actually starts up again right from where the move left off, amazing! ! That was one of my biggest beefs with localcast, since I would have to start the movie over anytime it either stopped working or I sat on my remote control, and try to find a way to fast forward to where I left off. Seriously, this beats the competition by a mile, best casting app ever!

5 ★ Wanted to stream a church service to our non-smart TV. This app worked great! It took a few tries to get everything just right, but I don't think it was a problem with the app. Once all the pieces were in place for the broadcast, the app worked perfectly for our entire two hour service. Thank you! (The broadcast came through a web player on a live stream and went through our Roku 3.)

4 ★ My favorite app to cast to my TV (Chromecast and Roku). Roku still doesn't do MKV files consistently, but I prefer the interface so just convert to MP4. Only other suggestion is to provide instructions on resyncing subtitles; it always takes me a while to figure out (especially for foreign language films without captions), pressing the buttons too close together resets the whole movie. Otherwise I'd rate 5 stars and pay for the pro version.

4 ★ I used to use Web Video Caster for casting videos from the web to my TV. It used to work fine but last year the frame rate dropped significantly. It made every video look choppy. I tried a number of casting apps to find a replacement. I finally came across this one. It works great. The playback is smooth. So far it hasn't stopped playing after 30 minutes like Web TV Caster. I'm very happy with this.
