Download the latest Orienteering Compass & Map application, version 2.7, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Tools app is developed by Calmatics and is easy to download and install.
Previous versions, including 2.7, 2.6, are also available. If you need help or have any problems, please let us know.
Description
* Has a button which when clicked locks the map to the compass such that the map keeps oriented as the landscape even it the phone is turned.
* The compass is resizable.
* Supports both SI and imperial units.
* Possibility to lock the GPS position to the middle of the screen or the middle of the compass.
* Ruler on the direction of travel arrow. Possible to switch it off.
* Possible to buy the app free from ads.
IMPORTANT: The map needs to be online. If there is no internet connection, the map cannot be shown, and the app does not work.

Disclaimer: The app is no better than the phone capabilities. For example, if the phone does not find its location, the coordinates and the location dot cannot be shown, and the compass declination cannot be calculated.

Orienteering Compass & Map 2.7 APK requires following permissions:

3 ★ Great app for bush walking,camping,outdoor adventures.only thing I don't like is it only works when you have internet t service.if it worked offline by satellite id give 5 stars.
4 ★ Easy to use. Lots of options and easy to customize. Lots of map options but cannot use without internet so only 4 stars.
5 ★ This app is bare bones, which is why I love it so much. My line of work is in broadband internet, so we link customer radios to our equipment on towers. The ability to mark tower locations is great. I'm not sure what the limit is on how many points one can place, but the app saves them with no issue. Thanks Dev for this great app, if you created a paid version I'd definitely buy it
4 ★ Great, I use this app before fishing. Get wind directions. Place the compass over the water and I can always have the wind behind me. I know its not rocket science, but its helped me enormously.
4 ★ Enjoying using the App with Scouts, however it would be even better if there was integration with Gaia Maps.
5 ★ I use a lot of compasses, but never seen anything like this. This should go to the top of the list for all compasses. Amazingly easy to use, and the additional features of what can be changed makes it phenomenal. The multiple map features make this app incredibly useful. It has topographical, real time satellite, and road maps. Zoom in and out, and 1 button instant return to your home location. I zoomed in on the satellite map and can see the cars in my driveway! 10 stars and A+++++ !!!!!
5 ★ Brilliant app, just like using a real map and compass. Upgraded to Pro because it is so good. One addition I would like is a "Dropped pin" option. An ability to zoom in, mark a spot, then "zoom out" and/or "change map view" and still see a marker on my spot.. Well recommended. Location markers have now been added. Thanks. Wish I could increase rating to 5+.
2 ★ Great idea but not able to use as a novice. 1) impossible to shoot a course (direction of travel will not move, just the magnetic north) 2) doing long distances is impossible to accomplish because of this. Having the delineation is nice but didn't verify it for my area. If the line of travel could move and match the needle in the doghouse direction it would be fun to use.
5 ★ It does everything needed and more. The only improvement would be offline maps from other source if google doesnt allow it.
2 ★ needs a way to be able to download the google maps before going to a location without cell coverage. when the app cant access the maps, or it's ads, the app turns the radio gain up to 100% and yields both a dead battery and no directions. if one has great cell coverage, then not bad; but most places one goes orienteering, one frequently never has cell coverage whether on land or water.
5 ★ First class app to find or identify map features using Google maps. Very rapid zooms. Easy to use with both terrain and satellite mapping. I have not yet found anything as effective or simple for 'rotate the map' or 'point your phone' at something. However back country users should note it's 'online' only, and lacks the detailed mapping needed for any serious wilderness navigation.
3 ★ Generally it is fairly decent app. Howevet, it lacks ability to better manage the waypoints, or points of interest. All POI ought to be stored in a list that provides easy selecttion for navigate to, or checking their location information. Please also add ability to save current location as POI, and also able to drop POI pin at the ruler zero meter mark point instead of dragging the marker around.
4 ★ Just one step more and will be great, very useful app. It's already useful, of course. The only and big drawback is lack of possibility for transferring coordinates from Google Maps which is app on which this app is based. Very strange or maybe I don't know how to do that Beside that, it has perfect design.
