2 ★ For over a decade, I have used and enthusiastically recommended this app. I'be happily paid the annual subscription, stops or before needed etc a before old times. But since new ownership (?) of the app, it's gotten ugly, buggy, uncustomizable - but still 35 bucks a year. So congrats, I guess - like Twitter, you bought something good then wrecked it with dumb ideas and bad implementation.
3 ★ I'm a new paying user that moved from LP. I choose Keeper for the feature set, and the migration utilities. The app could be a ton better in my opinion, but I won't get into all that. My problem right now is the application crashing randomly, and seemingly more frequent lately. I'm trying to get into the app because it seems to be unable to auto fill one of my apps, but I can't even get to it for the crashes! This type of behavior will need to stop very soon, or I'll go with my next choice..
4 ★ This has been a decent application - not without some issues though. I love the fact you can have your passwords in folders and subfolders. This makes it easier to share it with my spouse and also allows us to store less frequently used or no longer used passwords in a subfolder. About two years ago there was an upgrade that messed up how the folders worked. They would come up differently on different platforms (such as phone vs computer) but it still worked fine. This got fixed. Then recently I somehow got signed up for file storage and breach watch options, neither of which we use. When I tried to renew, I could not get these off the renewal option. I contacted tech support and they fixed both issues quickly. I was then able to renew without these options. That was fantastic! To get to 5 stars, I'd expect no issues at all until after the next renewal - no problems with folders, and no problems with renewal at the same rate.
3 ★ While I like the product, it is very frustrating that periodically the app just shuts down upon login and will not launch. Happened again today 8/4. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and at the moment it is working, but it happens at inopportune times (when you need a password, you need a password not the task of uninstalling and reinstalling an app). This doesn't appear to be related to updates as I had done this very recently. The instability of the app is worrisome.
2 ★ The app used to work just fine after many "upgrades" its usability has suffered. I attempt to use it across all platforms (iPad, pc, Android) but it does not work correctly now. It is very slow to notice when you are attempting a login if at all and when you then open the app to fill the password, it most times won't fill. Time to find a new password manager that is easier to use.
4 ★ ***Edit: Discovered the fix to this issue via the "Sync" tab. But this should not have happened. Please stop mucking about with a good platform. Don't make changes for change's sake.*** Been using this app for a long time and have always loved it. Suddenly, after the latest update, ALL my folders are gone and all my records are just listed in one column. I relied heavily on those folders for organizing the MANY entries I had saved. Y'all need to fix this immediately!
3 ★ This app is close to 5 stars but has several significant issues. It forces you to log in frequently (maximum 30 minutes), but the login process is painfully slow, even with a successful biometric scan. It does not sync automatically frequently enough, so I don't see passwords on my other devices right away. There is a manual sync option, but it is inconvenient. Finally, it needs to correctly autofill all authenticator code input types; it only supports plain text boxes now.
2 ★ Never told me it was subscription only. Started using it and then I get an email saying my free trial was about to expire and "some functions" would be unavailable. Those functions were the entire app. Also, you can't use the trash without paying. The folders messed up saying I couldn't move anymore records in or out of folders when I had made 3 folders. I was going to deal with the lack of the trash and folders until it told me that I had to pay 29.99 and can't continue the free trial.
4 ★ I quite like Keeper and it has been a good password vault for my family. However, today it started prompting me to log in at random times outside of trying to use any passwords. The frequency made me phone unusable, so I spent ten minutes trying to close each window and racing to uninstall the app before it started up again. I hope this issue is resolved soon! Edit: after re-installing this seems to be fixed for now. I'll wait a bit to see if it happens again and revisit my review.
2 ★ I have been a long term user of keeper, and have always preferred it over every other app I've tried. However it has an extraordinarily annoying feature that I hate with a passion and has caused me on many occasions to want to get rid of the app. While you are using the app it will have pop-ups that have to do with extra paid features, and there is no way to close the pop-ups without actually going and viewing them. This is extraordinarily troublesome! Please Fix this!
5 ★ I've used Keeper for many years and transitioned through several new phones, factory resets, etc. Each time, I've had to contact keeper customer service because I've forgotten how to go through the recovery process, particularly when 2-factor authentication apps are involved. Each time they've been very responsive, helping me get back up in a short period of time. This may not be the fanciest looking app but it works really well.
2 ★ Good app to store passwords and is organized. However, app is very annoying and has been switching more and more features to the "premium" (paid) version - versus the free version. For example, I used to be able to use folders to organize my passwords. They just changed it where that's only a feature on paid accounts. Additionally, if you decide you don't want to pay for a membership, it asks about every 2nd time that I open the app to "learn more" about a membership.
2 ★ I paid for the app. While using the paid version it worked quite well. But now the price point is not agreeable. DO NOT go from free to paid. I am experiencing that I cannot revert back to the free version. The app will constantly display the pop up about your expired subscription. I cannot add/delete/ modify any entries. I have contacted Keeper several times via email and have not gotten a response.
2 ★ Not Happy! The one thing they do not tell you is that when you start your trial, if you add in any passwords and do not upgrade at the end of your trial, all your passwords are erased! They consider your account to not be synced! But it shouldn't need to be synced up all my passwords are on my device! I don't need web syncing. I was highly pissed to see that I lost all of my generated passwords. If I had known they would simply disappear I would not have used the app. It was a good app before the trial ended and that's why I gave it two stars, however, it's VERY POOR service to erase someone's passwords for not paying you. Why even offer a free version?! Will not be recommending this app to anyone.
2 ★ Update: they fixed the Firefox plugin, so that's good. What's frustrating though is that when you save a password on Firefox, it does not automatically sync with the autofill on the phone app so autofill is useless (you end up having to open up the app and manually copy paste the password). I also see that inexplicably, there are four duplicate entries. So I will not raise my rating above 2 stars because this has been a frustrating user experience. I'm a paying customer, not a trial user.
