ADAPTIVE KANJI USAGE
Crack the chicken-and-egg problem of reading kanji with our unique presentation engine, which adjusts the Japanese text to accommodate your actual knowledge. This allows you to challenge yourself for the kanji you should know without being overwhelmed by what you don't.
SMART DEFINITIONS
Tap any word for a definition. This is more than just an automated lookup. Satori Reader shows the actual sense of each word as it's being used in the sentence. For example, the particle の has many uses: it can indicate possession; it can turn the preceding verb or phrase into a noun; it can stand in for another word; and more. We show you exactly what is happening in every instance of every word.
FRIENDLY ANNOTATIONS

SPACED REPETITION SYSTEM (SRS)
Create review cards instantly as you read. Later, review them using the built-in spaced repetition system. Each card you create takes along a snapshot of the sentence in which you encountered the word. 5 ★ Well designed, well voiced acted, and the side notes have well thought out explanations. Active responses to any questions you have and a good quality learning discussion below every episode. Has material that perfectly fits my "middling intermediate" reading level.
5 ★ I've been using the app for a couple weeks now, and it's been wonderful. They really care about giving you the best learning experience possible, including detailed explanations of idiomatic expressions and accurate translations for every word and sentence at a tap. There are native speaker readings for 100% of the material as well. I can't say enough good things.
5 ★ Love the app, invaluable service, but I haven't been able to get audio for the past two days. Pressing the play button instantly reverts it back to paused, with changing the audio device doing nothing. Will fix review if this gets amended Edit: It was a notification permission issue! If you guys use minimalist launchers like Minimalist Phone, make sure you disable the notification filter. Audio straight up will not play if Satori Reader can't create the little notification for media controls.
4 ★ This app has a lot of great stories and functions for learning as you read, the audio accompaniments are also very well done My main complaint is that, while the word definitions and readings contain hiragana, the long form explanations solely use romaji, and this makes them unreadable for me
