1 ★ Good service, however it chews through my battery and seems to take ~10% every 2 hours. I've had to uninstall this on my Samsung mobile along with 2 other people I recommended this service to because of it. You can't be travelling around countries, using your mobile to have this app take up all your battery so you therefore cannot use your phone.
1 ★ I live in Hong Kong and travel often on Singapore Airlines. Previously I could use Boingo properly on both occasions. However since early 2018, more and more hot spots including CSL and CMCC wifi services started to reject logins by Boingo app. The situation became much worse after the update of Boingo app, despite it run sneakily at background even I force stopped it, non of the hotspots i previously used could be logged in! And even Singapore Airlines' wifi on-board rejected it too! So basically it is a worthless product apart from having a spy app running at background and drying up data usage of my phone. Eventually I used app clearance to kill it completely last month.
1 ★ the app is able to connect less than 5% of the time when i am in range of a published partner wifi spot. its primary function appears to be telling me that i am connected to the internet via wireless and takes credit for a connection it has not helped establish. typically i abandon the app and try to connect directly to the wifi partner by selecting roaming/boingo and logging in directly. this is successful less than 50% of the time as the partner/boingo verification fails frequently.
1 ★ So far so bad. Asking me to upgrade to a paid version and promising that I will get 1million of similar hotspots like the one that's shown on the map. This happens to be Starbucks; you need a password to access and it's a mile away from me! How on earth can this app garnered awards and good reviews from the companies which they claimed to have showered on them? Am uninstalling this deceptive app.
3 ★ Got free access through my credit card. Honestly most of the time it never worked. It would connect, but no internet. The notes for manual connections to Japan wifi didn't work either. So glad I never paid for this, otherwise I'd be really upset.
1 ★ Don't waste your time or money. The app rarely works on either Android or Windows. Several upgrades & uninstalls later (on several devices on both platforms), it still only works the first time or two, then nothing. Tech support doesn't have a clue. Avoid!
1 ★ The app is broken in so many ways when it comes to login, detection of wifi, and the basics that you would probably expect this app to do. Also the WiFi service is garbage, can't stay connected to anything for then 15 minutes. Don't use Boingo unless it's for buisness or quick use. Only use the free service cause if you pay for anything, you don't get what you pay for. Basicly, Do Not use for gaming, Entertainment, or Streaming service. It is Extremely Unreliable.
1 ★ Android app doesn't work at all. Tried Android 9 and 10 on my Pixel 2 phone. Standing within range of Starbucks, it says Boingo WiFi detected, but it refuses to connect to the Passpoint even though I have installed the Boingo certificate. Colleague standing next to me using his iPhone app connects without issues. What gives?
3 ★ This app does not find WiFi hotspots when connected to cellular data, even when WiFi is on. The app says "You are online with cellular", however I want to use WiFi in order to reduce cellular data usage. Also, this app regularly closes itself when running in the background.
1 ★ I have never in the past 3 years managed to have this app connect to one the claimed million or so wifi hotspots when I need it. It seems to only be able to claim networks I am already connected to. I got access as a benefit my credit card fee and reinstalled this app thinking connectivity might be better and was promptly disappointed.
4 ★ I Live in Orange county, CA and the network that this app prefer's to connect with is Time Warner Cable/ Spectrum. (TWC/SPECTRUM) HAS HOTSPOT Locations all over my area. I am able to get connected to some of them but they are not authorized to work with majority of the hotspots available. Can any agreement between both parties involved here help by allowing more availability?
1 ★ Were there a Star Minus at my disposal, it would still fall short of describing the depths of inefficacy abound in this application. It is an exercise in futility bordering on madness to hope for any result greater than the giant ❌ with which you are greeted the 1st time you log on. The very embodiment of that age-old expression "You get what you pay for". You've been warned 👎⚠️✖️
1 ★ Doesn't work. Only "connects" to wifi that I already have access to. Does not connect to twc Hotspots or other boingo Hotspots that aren't free. Definitely not with paying for. I really don't understand the point of having a boingo account. Only have it because it's free with one of my credit cards
1 ★ App turns itself on and "scans for wifi" whether I want it to or not. Even after I have logged out of the app. I don't need this at home, only when traveling. I assume that it's trying to get revenue from selling my location. Uninstalled.
1 ★ never worked for me. every step scanning... connecting... canceling takes forever. when opening the app there is no options to check settings and account and it goes directly to scanning which takes longgggg time. wifi connection also takes a really long time and eventually tells it failed, no reason.
