As a member of Blue Shield of California, or Blue Shield Promise, with our app you can:
• View your personalized dashboard
• Search for doctors and facilities, by doctor specialty, by location, and/or by name
• Display and share your Blue Shield of California ID card
• Track the current status of your plan usage, including deductibles and copayments
• Review your claims, and track the progress of new claims from outset to finalization
• Submit out-of-network claims
• Pay your monthly premiums
• Review your health care team, including your doctors’ credentials, locations and contact information
• See your health insurance plan information, including important documents like your plan summary and Evidence of Coverage (EOC)
• Review family members on your plan and see their personal information
• View your benefits, including information on custom benefits, general exclusions and benefit maximums
• Learn about our benefit discount programs, like dental, vision and pharmacy
• Find urgent care
• Quickly access your member information without having to type in your username password. Fingerprint is now available for members using compatible devices.

1 ★ The teledoc functionality is completely broken. It just says there was an error and please try again later.
2 ★ This app is such a pain. It won't use the Android password manager feature so one has to use an easily memorable password that's easy to steal or guess. Requires two factor authentication to log in and then AGAIN to check my Teladoc messages, but won't send the authentication text the second time. So I have to wait until I can get on my laptop in a few hours in order to access the message explaining why my Teladoc session was abruptly canceled. Welcome to the future of medicine. It's bleak.
1 ★ Delete the app, use your browser! I don't live in California but I have the insurance through a job in Atlanta, GA so this app is truly useless. I can't located anything outside of California, again I place I don't live.
5 ★ Amazing. Can do anything and everything insurance related. I can switch doctors, pull up EOBs, access Teladoc when I would have not had time otherwise to visit my doctor... this app has come a long way
5 ★ Installing the app (on my Pixel 3 running Android 11) was a breeze, as was signing in to my account and enabling biometric authentication. The app provides quick, on-the-go access to my Inbox, ID card, billing info, claims history, etc. and is easier than performing these same tasks via the website. YMMV, obvi, but this seems like a solid app and I haven't encountered any of the issues described by other reviewers.
3 ★ Couldn't pay my bill. Got stuck in a loop where it would have a figure that was 10% of my monthly premium. If I selected the monthly premium radio button and next it would go back to the beginning. The website worked fine with same credit card etc so was able to setup payment there.
2 ★ Lacks basic functionality. Teledoc does not allow selection of more than one relative for any family history, nor would it allow selection of pharmacy despite making it a condition for setting up Teledoc appointment. Profile settings also is very limited. Just bad app in general.
1 ★ The app won't remove an inactive plan and I have to manually switch it every time I open the app. I have had to call the 24/7 line every time I have an emergency because they do not update urgent care and emergency providers they are contracted with. A terrible app for a terrible insurance company.
2 ★ Not sure if it's the app or not but been trying to reset my password for the last month to get access as I need a new one. Every time it says it's having technical issues, even called and spoke with a representative to get it figured out on their end. Still doesn't work, so now I have to pay by phone every month.
3 ★ Useful app in emergencies. Has card visible which is great. The emergency on call staff is super nice too. But the plan was horrible. I've since changed plans to someone who actually covers things without a fight and pre authorization for literally EVERYTHING.
5 ★ The app was very fast and was super easy-to-use. Plus I was able to access all my information very quickly. Not a whole lot of difference between the app and the actual web page. Very pleased.
1 ★ I have not been able to log into this app since installing it back in April. Called cust svc for reset 3 diff times. It just says your account has been locked out for too many failed attempts. We'll, how is that when I never logged in. I have put in 2 tickets and both say they can't duplicate the problem. Said try clearing my cache. I just Uninstaller the app and try again. Still nothing.
1 ★ I downloaded the app, because something is wrong with online bill pay (the option to pay us not listed). The app doesn't have the option to pay either. I pay all bills online, so I know how to find a bill pay button.
1 ★ They tell you your ID card is available digitally...but it isn't. Also they refuse to give you a summary of benefits for your plan, which is also very very stupid. They don't even do it on the website either! How unhelpful, they have plenty of links to information on health to give the appearance of a company that cares, and yet when it comes to the things that really matter...they clearly don't. Honestly this app has so little function you're better off using the website anyway.
