Download the latest Astronomy Picture of the Day application, version 4.2.3, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Personalization app is developed by Sam Oakley and is easy to download and install.

Description
Browse the list of previous APODs, read their descriptions, and set them as wallpaper!
Each day's image can be automatically downloaded and set as your homescreen wallpaper automatically so you can enjoy a beautiful new space background every day. Compatible with all launchers.
Includes a stack widget so you can flip though the past 10 images, and a title widget showing the name of the last image.
Also includes a "daydream" or screensaver which can activate when your device is docked or charging. Enjoy seeing astronomy images cycle with some cool "Ken Burns"-style effects.
Read interesting facts about pictures of the universe and expand your horizons.
Lets you have an ever changing background without the battery drain of live wallpapers.

1 ★ It seems like the developer has given up on this app. It no longer works, and nothing has been done to remedy this problem. I hope whoever is in charge of this app is doing alright. I really enjoyed getting new and often topical daily photos of space stuff automatically set to my phone background everyday for the last several years. If you can fix the functionality of this app, I will gladly change my review back to 5 stars.
1 ★ I've used this app for 4-5 years now, on both Samsung & LG devices on 4 versions of Android, & absolutely loved it. Sadly, as many have reported, it stopped working in late April. Pictures no longer download. Would've given it a 5 till that started. Update: Today I opened it & got a message it was written for an older version of Android & may not work properly, & to look for an update. Sadly, still no update & still doesn't work. Looking for an alternative now. 😢
1 ★ I would normally give this a 5 but lately when the app loads the photos do not load. All I get is the description and the title but no pictures. I've been using apod for over a year but now it is worthless. I even uninstalled and reloaded it and that was useless it still will not load the photos. Please fix. End of line
2 ★ Used to be amazing. Now it no longer works AT ALL. no pictures, no auto-wallpaper, nothing. And the developer doesn't really seem to care?
2 ★ It was working so well with updating my wallpaper daily until recently. For the past few months, since March I think, the pictures don't load anymore. It is really a pity cos I loved this app. It would be great if the creator would fix it! There are people who still want to use your app :D
3 ★ Was great until it stopped updating. Ever since the last software update on my Note 10+, the app no longer loads pictures, only the name and description shows. I'm disappointed because this was one of my favorite apps. I hope it gets fixed!
2 ★ Love the app, especially the ability to download pics every day and set the wallpaper. Unfortunately it stopped downloading and displaying images about a week ago, even within the app. Looks like it needs an update.
3 ★ Same problem as another recent reviewer!: no images. This review is by way of an alert, as I've used the app in the past with much pleasure and don't want to give it a bad rap. When it works, it deserves a solid four or higher.
3 ★ Love the app as it has worked well for the past few years, but a few days ago no pictures. The text for each picture downloads though. Reinstalling did not fix the problem. 5/12 App still not fixed.

2 ★ It has worked wonderfully for years. I loved forward to each day's update. Stopped working on 26 Apr on my Samsung S10. Last system update was 7 Apr so I don't know why it stopped. Gets description, just not the picture.
1 ★ I have used this since it came out, and twice it has given me the issue of no longer downloading images . This is the second time and it just won't work. Upsetting because I really loved the backgrounds.
3 ★ A good user interface with clear settings options and, obviously, excellent images. The daily update, however, doesn't seem to be working unless the phone is online at exactly the configured time; I would expect it to update any time after that. It's also crashed a couple of times or set the wallpaper to black. This is using Evie Launcher; I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
4 ★ I really like this app, however, the picture doesnt show, it hasn't for days now. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Very sad. I hope an updated comea soon to fix.
2 ★ This app stopped downloading the daily pics to my SM-G930V. I deleted some files to get my memory from 96% to 94%. I verified NASA'S site. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I am getting the descriptions fine. It's not doing what it claims
