Description
No Wi-Fi connection is needed to download your audiobooks. As long as you have a cell connection you can begin your download—but data rates may apply. Once downloaded, you can take your audiobooks with you on the go.
Quick listening — You can start listening to your audiobook as soon as the first track is downloaded to your device. All additional tracks will continue to download in the background.
The Downpour.com app contains well designed playback functionality and controls, including track advance and previous track selection and bookmarking—the app saves your place automatically so you can pick up right where you left off without having to remember where you were. Other key features include track-list view and time elapsed by track/chapter, with on-screen track scrub bar functionality.

3 ★ Ok as one of many similar apps. Selection is limited, prices are cheaper at the Google Playstore.
3 ★ The forward and back track buttons are too big. They should rarely be used compared with the skip forward/back buttons, which should be bigger. This is poor ui design. A notification bar would be nice for skipping and pausing control. Finally, when forward and back are pressed via an external remote (Bluetooth), it should skip, not go to to the next track/chapter. Improve these things and it's 5 stars. I'd use the Smart Audiobook app, but the title I'm listening to has DRM.
5 ★ Update! Great service for purchasing audiobooks. Their selection is very similar to Audible, but is DRM free. This app is a great way to listen to audiobooks purchased through their service and syncs where you left is with the website player so you can move between devices easily. Previously the app had a weird issue that appears to be related to corrupt user data. Once I cleared the data (uninstalling doesn't do this) it worked perfectly.
5 ★ The app is simple to navigate and use. I easily purchase, download and listen to my books. I love that they are open with no DRM allowing me to play them on my audio players as well, not just what supports their app like with competing platforms. My only wish is for Android Auto and Chromecast support for easier listening in the car and house.

5 ★ Excellent service really good synopsis and samples to inform your choice amazing choice of books. I highly recommend it, I eat audio books so financially this makes soooo much sense.
3 ★ I love that you sell audiobooks without DRM, however, since you also have books with DRM it really should be in the details of the book. The lack of DRM is the primary reason to choose you over audible. I fully understand that you also have to provide the locked books for those who want selection rather than freedom. But please make it possible to differentiate the two.
5 ★ I started using Downpour several years ago for long road trips I take with our RV. It is so nice not having to carry CD's with us. It's also great that I can download a book before a trip on to my phone so I don't have to use my data and also don't have to worry about cell reception. Downpour is a bargain.
4 ★ I really love service and the lack of DRM in their audiobooks. The app works pretty dang well. I wish the track-based downloading system was made a little more intuative (i often have to manually download tracks), and the lack of notification center player controls is frustrating, but overall, its a solid alternative to audible.
5 ★ This is killing every other audiobook app. period. Great prices cloud downloads and a huge selection.
4 ★ Searching could be improved a lot, starting with sorting and filtering options. EG, sorting by number positive reviews, or by publication date, or by price. It would be nice to be able to filter out fiction when I'm looking for nonfiction.
2 ★ Used to be a good app. Since the latest update now everytime I reboot my phone I have to uninstall then reinstall the damn app to get the book I was listening to to play again. After a reboot the book will play BUT there is no audio. The only fix is to uninstall reinstall. Please fix this once useful app.
2 ★ This is reviewing the app, not the service. The app appears unfinished. It does not have a lockscreen play/pause button, doesn't allow me to select a specific download folder, and today decided to start redownloading sections of a book i already jad downloaded. Perhaps others may have use it for purchasing books, but i prefer a browser.
4 ★ Everything was working good but then every time it crashes.
1 ★ Cnt access my account... i got a new phone and it won't let me log in or even click forget password. It just keeps loading
