News Reader 2.12.14 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

1 ★ Since the latest update, there is no longer an option to close the ad at the bottom which is covering the 'accept cookies' button making the articles unreadable as they're hidden by the cookies pop up

1 ★ I liked this app a LOT. But I also have one beef that keeps me from choosing to use the app regularly and buying. The white flash when opening an article (when using dark mode). I use dark because of an eye issue and the white flash makes the app not usable. Fix it and I'll be back! Edit: Returned 10/31 and still no change to my issue. I guess no one is interested in fixing. Thanks...I won't be back again.

4 ★ Promising replacement for Awnry's News and Weather, which seems to have been abandoned, but a bit buggy. Different point sizes of font looks a bit messy, 4x1 widget sticks on original headline.

5 ★ Great alternative to Google News & Weather! It's a little unfortunate that some publications can get preferential treatment, presumably by paying for traffic. This allows newspapers to dominate the top line billing. It's not so bad that it becomes an echo chamber, but it's clear how the top line article is slanted toward a specific paper. Also, I turned off the "Sports" category, but still get a fair number of sports stories.

5 ★ This is a really nice app really easy to read everything is laid out just right. Trust me I have tried a majority of the news reader apps out there and this one just works not too flashy full of good content like I said it's almost like reading a newspaper.you got a new fan I'll be with you every morning reading the news keep up the good work. And whatever you do take a lesson from the people down the street you know the ones that everybody's pissed off because they screwed up perfectly fine app so just don't Google it :)

2 ★ Using the filter feature is a bit of a pain having to type sources in EXACTLY to get them to work, but in general all has been smooth sailing for a couple of months. In the last week, however, it started acting buggy; blank feeds, loss of place when tapping back after reading an article (returns to first category no matter where I was reading). And why show articles from days, even weeks before? I thought maybe I'd missed an update, but nope. Bummer. I really liked this app when it was working.

5 ★ Great news app. I converted to this after the already dreadful Google news app managed to become utterly abysmal & have never looked back. Well laid out and works well, enabling me to see all the news I want with no hassle. A recent Google update broke the app but the developer addressed this and fixed it in no time at all. Would strongly recommend.

4 ★ good integrator of various news sources, also effectively display titles and important info in single heading, makes efficient time for reading. may be better if the the topics (in tabs) can be personalized as per reader's requirements (e.g. news in Indo, Malaysia, and Singapore in different tabs). will be great if the headings can be filtered according to reader's needs (e.g. headlines, politics/security hard news on the top and then others at the bottom)

1 ★ News Reader? Advertisements everywhere. Bottom of page, top of page, on the side of the side of a page. Article source advertisements with constant App avertisements. Rather just not have news. Thnx developers.

5 ★ This is precisely what I was looking for. Most news apps only give a minimal number of stories. This gives lots. More so, courtesy of arrows at the top, you can move through top stories, world, science, technology, weather etc pages, filled with headlines, which once selected opens the app and headline, media outlet, to view story. There are minimal ads, but you can remove them for less than a bar of chocolate, here in the UK.

3 ★ Almost. After months of searching this was almost the news reader for me. Needs much faster way to filter sources and TOPICS out. Both from the feed with a flick or swipe, and in bulk from a list. Needs to display articles in a more readable way, as is offers no advantages over a web browser. Finally really really needs adblocker. Or will never be better than a browser. Not uninstalling right away. Will check back for improvement.

4 ★ I've been trying various news and weather apps to replace the new Google version, and this is my favorite so far. You can customize news categories, few ads, nice layout of articles. Only wish you could expand on the weather, but this app is a keeper for me.

5 ★ I've been searching for a new news app for about a month, since my previous favourite 'Simply News' was discontinued, and this gives me just what I want. The option to view different publications version of the same news item is really good. Being able to add categories is great.
