Gabriel Araújo Marins Rodrigues (Lorena, March 20, 1996), [3] better known as Biel and formerly as MC Biel, is a Brazilian pop and funk melody singer. In April 2015, due to his success on the internet, he signed a contract with Warner Music. His second EP, "Biel", was released in June of the same year in iTunes. In November of the same year, he released a new single, called "Química", that debuted in second place in iTunes, being behind only of "Hello", of Adele. That year he also won My Nick Awards, as "Music Revelation"
Biel was born in Lorena, São Paulo, Brazil on March 20, 1996. He is the eldest son of lawyer Eliziane Silva Araújo and the owner of a concert company and former DJ, Sérgio Ricardo Marins Rodrigues. His sister, Giovanna Araújo Marins Rodrigues, is still a student. At age 12, Biel began to show interest in the musical career and, by influence of his father, began to be model, DJ and dancer. He began his career at the age of 16 when his father put him to perform at his friend's club. He was finishing high school and wanted to attend medical school. His work as a singer worked and he decided not to enter college because there was no time to study with the rush of the shows. Gabriel tried to attend college but locked it this year. [6]

Biel started singing just funk ostentation and gained prominence due to his body and being considered by many to be a "Justin Bieber look-alike". After he signed with Warner Music label, where he withdrew the "MC" from his stage name, he began to sing other styles of funk
In 2013, Biel, without a record label, started singing "funk ostentation" (lyrics that exalt the enrichment of the singers) and then started to sing "funk seduction" (explicit lyrics), having all his money being administered by his parents, for not being "mature enough" to manage everything by himself. [1] After signing a contract with Warner Music in 2015, he removed the MC from the name and the money came to be administered by the record company. With Warner Music, it released, in the same year, the single "Demorô" [7] and an EP called "Biel", released on June 9. [4] In November, he released a new single called "Chemistry," which debuted at # 2 on iTunes. [5] [8]

Biel has announced that it will release a studio album with 12 tracks. The album will contain the 4 songs of the EP "Biel" and the single "Quimica"
On August 3, 2016, several media outlets reported that Warner Music had broken the contract with the singer. The following day, the singer would have a pause, indefinitely, in his career, fulfilling only the last presentations already scheduled. According to Biel's advice, the artist is "very shaken by everything that has been happening with him," referring to the recent scandals caused by sexist, homophobic statements and the process of sexual harassment of journalists.
