OPL Mobile 2.13.1 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows applications to perform I/O operations over NFC.

Allows an application to change the Z-order of tasks.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

1 ★ I can't help but wonder why a library app needs to my phone, device id etc. The permissions it requires just to get it installed are overly suspicious. Rating it 1 star and going back to using the website.

1 ★ I was stunned to see the requirements one must agree to in order to gain access to this app. Never have i ever. Hopefully it's an error as it wasn't like this before.

1 ★ This app was great. All of a sudden today it tells me it was built for an older version of Android and won't work at all. Very disappointing! I used it often!

4 ★ I find it really helpful for renewing books and keeping track of my checked out books, but wish I could search and check out ebooks from this as well.

1 ★ Had to remove because it crashes regularly. Suspect it has not been updated for latest Android version. Sent feedback with crash logs..

1 ★ VERY poor developer who should lose their contract. App is never updated and targets a VERY old API version which sacrifices the security of users. In fact, on the latest devices users will actually be WARNED by Android about running this app. They are targetting API version 20 while the current is 29 and the MINIMUM allowed for an update is 26. Has issues remembering sessions. Excessive permissions. Sluggish performance. UX needs some work to make actions more intuitive/frictionless.

5 ★ Love the dashboard to quickly see whats due, when and easy to renew. And for setting up my future reads.

4 ★ For people worried about security: library tech staff said you can download the app & then turn off all permissions. I did that & basic functions are working. Permissions are for extra functions like scanning titles (camera), finding nearest branches (location), calling locations (phone), etc. That wasn't clear until I got more info from the helpful OPL tech staff.

1 ★ Can developer explains why this app uses owner phone and camera? What is the purpose as there is no options to support these permissions. Privacy invasion.? This app does not allow user to cancel holds. Nor this app allows cancel Ready to PickUp..

3 ★ The only reason anyone uses this is to access their account, so why no automatic login? Otherwise, a solid app.

2 ★ Limited functionality that's extremely dated. It needs some love!!
