What's new in SkipLock 1.2.7

Minor bug fixes. Marked app as incompatible with Android 5+. Due to changes in Android 5.0, it is no longer possible for an app to unlock the device. See the FAQ for details. The good news for you is that Android 5.0 has much of SkipLock's functionality built in now: http://www.droid-life.com/2014/11/18/android-5-0-feature-google-updates-smart-lock-on-lollipop-to-include-trusted-places/

Description

SkipLock is now free! Thank you to all my customers who have supported me over the years. I no longer have time to support this app, so I made it free for everyone. Enjoy!

Tired of entering your password all the time? SkipLock lets you skip past the lock screen when you're connected to a designated wifi or bluetooth device. When you're at home or in your car, your phone is safe and you don't need to be typing in your password all the time. When you're connected to your wifi network, or a trusted bluetooth device, you can go straight to the home screen when you press the power button. You can even have it keep the phone unlocked while you're connected to a bluetooth smartwatch, headset, or car. As soon as the phone gets out of range, it locks.

SkipLock is the leading password convenience app on the market. It's focus is on reliability, quality, and a great user experience. The setup wizard makes it easy to setup, and helpful dialogs are displayed if something isn't quite right. Forget about trying to use Tasker or Llama for this. SkipLock is way easier!

SkipLock is the successor to Unlock With WiFi. Major improvements have been made. Here is a full explanation of why I made it a separate app: http://benhirashima.com/posts/the-rebirth-of-unlock-with-wifi/. If you bought Unlock With WiFi within the last two months, please contact me and I will either refund your purchase or give you a free copy of SkipLock.

Some of the features in SkipLock:

- Pattern and face unlock supported on rooted devices
- Completely redesigned Android 4+ user interface
- No background service = less memory usage and more reliable
- No status bar icon required (but it’s still an option). Tray-only notifications also an option.
- If you have notifications enabled, you can tap the notification to instantly lock the device
- Automatically turn on/off wifi
- Automatically turn on/off bluetooth
- Automatically turn on/off sync
- WidgetLocker integration
- Low memory usage and minimal impact on battery life
- Can save your battery if you let it automatically turn off wifi, bluetooth, and sync

Known limitations:

- Does not work with Android Pay, according to user reports
- Does not work on Android 5+. However, Android 5.0 has much of SkipLock's functionality built in now.
- Support for the Galaxy S 5 is only partial at the moment. The fingerprint scanner is not supported. Only patterns work in root mode, but PINs and passwords work in non-root mode.
- Only passwords or PINs are supported on non-rooted devices
- If your employer enforces a password policy on your phone, the app won't work. This is the case for many corporate Exchange users. If your phone is rooted, you may be able to avoid this problem.
- This app doesn't work on phones that have full device encryption enabled.
- The app doesn't unlock when connected to Bluetooth LE devices. Only regular Bluetooth devices.
- Motorola Skip or Dots may not work correctly when SkipLock is installed
- Do not install this app on the SD card. It will not be secure if you do.
- To uninstall, you must select Uninstall from the menu inside the app. The normal way won't work.
- SkipLock is not compatible with TimePin or any other app that controls the lock screen, except for WidgetLocker.

5 ★ It was working fine in 4.x and a few days ago T-Mobile pushed out Android 5.0.1 to my samsung galaxy note 4. Still works fine. The play store on my phone, though, says it's incompatible and won't even let me do a review from the phone. I'm going to backup the apk in case it gets wiped by some forced uninstall via the store.

2 ★ Sometimes though it turns off the WiFi before it has a chance to connect. Turned delay up to 360 but still happens. Still best way to have a secure lock screen except when you don't want it. ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT FROM DEV. STILL USEFUL BUT HAS SOME BUGS.

4 ★ I had this feature on my Nexus 5 Lollipop 5.0 and now that I have a LG G Flex I totally missed it so this app greatly helps fix that for me. So now my Sony SW2 can keep my phone unlock whenever near me...You have a happy camper here.

4 ★ But I'd really like to add GPS locations too. My work doesn't have WiFi and I really don't need it locked there. I beg of thee, find a workaround for lollipop. Somehow. Even if it requires root and disabling encryption. The convenience of this app is too great.

5 ★ The unlock doesn't seem to work on a samsung note pro and the trial is too short to resolve the problems. I hope you will release the code as open source so that it can be built into the custom roms.

5 ★ I hate passwords, locks, lines, PINs and anything else that slows me down! This app allows me to bypass the MANDATORY PIN on my Note 3 when I use FoxFi. You see, I don't want someone to save me from myself just because I set up VPN!!! If someone hacks my VPN because I left my phone someplace unattended then ""MY BAD"" and I alone will suffer the consequences! I won't even whine to ANYBODY about it. Thank you infinitely for this APP!!!

4 ★ Simple to set up and use, and was nice and reliable back on KitKat. Moved to Smart Unlock now as I missed the trusted WiFi feature on Lollipop (which works much like this app did BTW). Can't really give 5 stars anymore as it doesn't work on my Nexus 5, but if you're never going any higher than KitKat, then this app is fine.

3 ★ Superb app. Only 2 suggestions. Time based lock/unlock method? I don't want a locked screen after 22:00 while I'm not connected to any Wifi or Bluetooth. 2. Turn on Mobile Data when disconnected from wifi. EACH FEATURE STANDS FOR A STAR.

5 ★ After upgrading my Note 3 to 5.0 SkipLock continued to work great. Unfortunately I did a factory reset in an attempt to fix the now-incapacitated Proximity Sensor and am unable to install SkipLock. It works, really! Enable the intall!

5 ★ I currently have the Note 3 and I Love this app. It works perfectly when paired with my Pebble Watch, and it's nice to know if I accidentally walk away from my phone, I can be sure that anyone who may come in contact with it can't access it without a password. Hopefully you'll be able to get it to work with 5.0 because eventually the Note 3 will be updated to it. Thanks in advance for working on it and for a Great app!

5 ★ I really loved this app. It did as promised: unlocked when connected to wifi, locked when disconnected. I was even working when my S5 went up to Lollipop. Unfortunately I accidentally killed my phone and now can't get this back! Huge loss, great app! Highly recommend!

5 ★ Using this app to give me the smart lock feature while waiting for an official Lollipop release for my OnePlus One. Custom ROMs are great right now, but don't give me the battery life and have video playback issues. Rolling back to KitKat took away smart lock, which you get used to so quickly. Skiplock fills that gap neatly. Nice job!

4 ★ It is working quite fine, only sometimes it doesn't lock my phone as it should. And I was having some problems on MIUI rom for HTC One S C2.

3 ★ Cm12 offers these functions built in, so I don't really need it. However, the developer claims he can't get his app to work on Lollipop but there are other apps with this function that work with lollipop.

4 ★ Great app, can open my phone without a pass code at home where I do not need it. Went ahead and upgraded, minus one star for being a little too pricey. But great app anyways.
