App permissions
Beanhunter 5.0 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows an application to read from external storage.

2 ★ Disappointed. Can ONLY search where you are, not in a given place where you plan to be, or where you've been. Text search for cafe names searches the whole world. I went to a cafe, can't recall the name, now can't review it because I left the area and the app only shows cafes where I am now. Devs, you need to think about how people might use your app. Edit: i found the name of the cafe using google maps - and beanhunter app won't find the cafe searching exact name! I haven't even travelled that far away
1 ★ The 'my location' function doesn't work, even when location sharing permission is turned on in settings. I'm in the UK but it defaults to Melbourne. When I searched Islington, UK it took me to Trinity, Dublin. It was impossible to actually search around me. I also couldn't create an account (perhaps that helps with location although can't see why) but it said my email had been used before (it hasn't) and no way to reset password. I've deleted the app and am back to using google maps.
1 ★ New version is total rubbish compared to the old version which wasn't perfect but completely usable. Clueless developers ruined a great concept and typical of Apple fanbois, no Android update to fix all the glaring deficiencies 9mths later. I immediately reinstalled the old version so I'm still able to find great coffee. Don't bother with this version
2 ★ Great concept but the app is very buggy. Can't sort by ranking either... you should be able to set a radius, then show top ranked cafes in order within that area. You should also be able to also sort only by certain attributes also e.g. just the quality of the coffee. There are also not enough ratings for cafes.. you should add incentives for people to rate them e.g. coffee credit or points which add higher weighting to "power users"
1 ★ Earlier versions, while faulty in their scrolling over multiple pages, still worked. Now I can only search using the "near me" button. No filtering options, no sorting etc. Why does the iPhone version have so much functionality yet the Android version truly sucks!
1 ★ I cant believe they thought it was a good idea to remove the "sort by" button. Now I can't actually find what is the highest ranked coffee in my area - especially annoying when travelling. Just endless scrolling - not worth a download at this stage.
1 ★ Too hard to use... not very user friendly. The app is confusing and even just logging in can be a hassle. I've always loved Beanhunter and recommended it but now would definitely need an upgrade before will use the app again.
2 ★ Would be an Awesome app if it didn't crash all the time! It has never let me down in terms of finding awesome coffee all around the world, but it constantly crashes, which is Very frustrating!
1 ★ App crashes when trying to select a coffee shop in its list. Map works okay, crashes sometimes in that menu too. This feels useless since I can't read the reviews. Would be useful if there was some way to sort the list it gives you.
1 ★ Used to be great, not any more... Very buggy. Crashes constantly. I loved using this, especially when travelling for work. Now it's totally useless because it is so buggy.
2 ★ used to work well. no updates since Feb 2018. keeps on closing down. used to have great info. sent feedback to request fix on closing down , nothing happens. its a shame they don't fix it
2 ★ The app is broken. It's an amazing concept and idea but it doesn't work - every time I click on a cafe to look at the info and/or rate it, the app force closes so I can't use it.
2 ★ Useless map function. Doesn't show cafes. However if you search the cafe it might come up. Can't edit personal details/account. Would be a great app if it worked and had some better design features.
2 ★ Keeps crashing, a LOT. Not much info other than address and opening hours. Not sure what the point of listing distance as "> 100m" only to show something that's a couple miles away. Not useless but this could be so much better.
1 ★ This app is a joke. The number of UI flaws, instability, and inconsistencies make it useless. PEOPLE: if you have a great website and decide to make an app but don't truly invest in it, you will RUIN your brand! Just don't bother with an iOS or Android app!
