Estimate Fire Protection Water Demand APK

This is the first release of the App to estimate total fire water protection demand from sprinklers, in-rack sprinklers (if any) and hose.

Fire protection design usually follow a certain standards e.g. local codes, NFPA 13, etc. In these design, the sprinkler demand required is usually given in design density over a design area, or number of sprinklers at a certain minimum pressure for a certain sprinkler k-factor. In addition, some situations may require in- rack sprinklers (particularly for protection of storages). Hose streams are also required. The water supply must also be sufficient for a certain duration. In this app, you will be able to estimate the total flow required (in gpm or L/min) based on the sprinkler demand, in- rack demand and hose demand. The total amount of water required (e.g. size of fire water tank) can also be estimated based on the flow required and duration. The app allows both calculation in US units (i.e. gpm, psi, US gallon) as well as metric units (L/min, cubic meters, bar). This estimation is particularly useful if one is estimating the size of fire pump and water tank required at the early stage of a project. It's also useful for initial cost estimation. Of course, the actual demand is determined by the actual pipe sizes, pipe lengths, number of bends, etc. This app provides an estimation. To obtain actual demand, hydraulic calculations should be performed.
