Features
• Use your phone to change channels, pause, fast forward, rewind and record your favorite shows… just like you do with other DIRECTV remote controls!
• The Mini Guide feature within the app allows you to preview programming on your phone and then switch it to your TV screen without interruption!
• Use the app to control every HD receiver in your home!
• The app will let you know when a receiver is detected.
• The Play/Pause button allows you to pause what you’re watching when you receive an incoming call and resume watching when you are finished talking.
Follow these steps to ensure your DIRECTV HD receivers are set up properly before using the remote app.
1. Press the MENU button on your standard DIRECTV remote control.
2. Select Settings & Help > Settings > Whole-Home > External Device
3. Set “External Access” and “Current Program” to: Allow
Please note: The DIRECTV Remote app requires a Wi-Fi connection to your home network and a DIRECTV Plus HD DVR (models R22, Genie, HR20 or higher) connected to the same network. The DIRECTV Remote app is also compatible with HD receivers (models C31 and higher)

DIRECTV Remote App 2.60 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an app to access approximate location.

1 ★ Says it's connected to my TV but nothing happens. None of the buttons do anything, no menus come up and "live TV" doesn't do anything but load, showing the circle symbol in the middle of the screen.
1 ★ Seriously Directv you guys are soo obvious about not wanting customers to skip commercials you removed the skip forward and back buttons from this remote app. Big win for AT&T corporate 👍
1 ★ Waste of time. App says my phone and receiver aren't on the same Wi-Fi. Whatev. I'm going to keep looking for a remote. Lame that directv app doesn't work. Peel is better. It works about 50% of the time
3 ★ Since our remote magically sprouted legs and walked away, this app was handy but it is very laggy. Entering numbers is an exercise in futility. Generally frustrating to work with but a good temporary thing to have.
1 ★ This app is terrible! It keeps disconnecting and trying to fix my tv to the wrong receiver. I waste a lot of time switching and refreshing. The guide doesn't refresh to newer times. .very disappointing!!! Do not recommend.
1 ★ Tryin to download and after attempts, gave up. It said it was down loaded, but wouldn't open. I also wanted to pay bill, nut couldn't do that either.
5 ★ Ignore other people's negative feedback I have had this app for one week and it works great no problem no issues I lost my remote but this does everything the remote did only complaint is only works with the big boxes please upgrade to work on the small boxes":) Other then that it's a perfect app
2 ★ Good idea in theory, it helped when my remote stopped working but very frustrating still. The one thing i did appreciate was not having to sign in to use it, since you need to sign in for evey little things these days, who can even remember all those login usernames and passwords anyway. However.... Everytime I go to use it it says no internet connection, which is obviously incorrect. The fast forward and rewind are hidden which is annoying and why you didn't include a volume switch is beyond me. Wish I didn't have to use this stupid app but desperate times call for desperate annoying measures I guess. Directv really needs to do some updating, directv is pretty expensive as it is so at least try to keep your costumers happy and avoid unnecessary headaches for them.
3 ★ Works okay. It has all the functionally, but now all it needs is polishing. You have big buttons, but only use a small area of it to tap. Make it bigger. And on phones with a smaller screen, you can't scroll down to the channel up and down and channel number button. If you fix that, this app would be great. Oh, and btw... A widget would be nice too.
5 ★ I love this app because my original remote from direct TV broke and there was no way I could change my channel with out a remote control. I am so glad this app worked good me.

1 ★ Can't find my receiver tried entering ip address manually still won't work note to others: don't use this app until update is available use the original DirecTV app which seems to work flawlessly with all receivers
2 ★ Guide never loads. Can't auto detect MY Genie 2. Have to manually put in IP address, close the app and it forgets the IP address. Remote is a waste of space. Almost worthless.
1 ★ App has never worked even though I added the correct IP address. Rather use the remote from actual DirecTV app itself
5 ★ Worked for me except there's not volume button on this app and the screen doesn't completely fit my phone but I will say it's a simple and easy remote to use if you can't find your remote
