App permissions

ASUS Router 1.0.0.9.12 APK requires following permissions:

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.

Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to read or write the system settings.

Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

3 ★ Tends to not work right. Ie have to log into pc and connect to make sure things work. Also the aura led options are so limited and bland it's disappointing. Surely it's not that had to allow different colour options etc.. Also the QoS bandwidth limiter hardly works as well. Ie set 1mb/s up down and it's hitting 40/50mb easily...

1 ★ This app exposes the login name AND the password for administering your router, under Settings | Router Info | About. It displays your admin password in plain text -- even when your phone is not connected to your WiFi, i.e. regardless of where you are. In addition: when your phone is connected to your WiFi network, this app ALSO exposes the passwords for all of your WiFi networks, under Settings | WiFi | Wireless | Network or Guest. So if anyone else would pick up your phone, they can know how to connect to your WiFi network, AND they can change the settings on your router. This is a terrible lack of security. I uninstalled this app as soon as I saw my passwords displayed in plain text. Don't get me wrong, my ASUS router works very well so I'm happy with my Asus hardware. But I would give this Android app zero stars if I could.

3 ★ For some devices app shows recently changed icon when online but as soon as device is offline app shows old icon. I tried to fix this by deleting app data and by changing to different icon without success. Still seeing old icons for some devices when offline. Also with latest update AiProtection "Scan" word is not fully visible on the button. Both bugs but needs to be fixed. Please consider adding PIN and Fingerprint option to open app because Router and Wifi passwords are visible in the app.

3 ★ Asus makes good hardware but needs to improve on its software aspect. Am using the AX Mini mesh system and the "Parental Control" is very finicky. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. Unable to use "Block" function on "Guest Network Index 1". Please do something about it Devs. TQ!

3 ★ Was a 5-star reviews now 3 due to log in problems after update... Finally managed to get in, but still can't access the mesh node, which I could yesterday. Not happy. Had this app installed for over a year now, I find it very useful for controlling my Asus routers. Please to see that they have sorted out the issue of the router crashing after switching VPN. Remote access, for when I am away from home, would also be nice.

5 ★ At first I didn't know what to think but a few hours later I was really impressed of the functionality. You can name each connected devices and limit their bandwidth. You can ever set up certain modes like gaming mode, streaming mode, or prioritize file transfer. Really like this app.

2 ★ Works ok, but with every update with this app or firmware, something is fixed and something new is broken until the next update. Right now it's the device list. The list is incomplete and offline things are shown as wired connection.

1 ★ This app used to be good. Now, however, it is just hot garbage. Latest update changed reported link speed from Kb/s to mbps, the numbers dont fit on the screen anymore; and, ofcourse, they dod not add an option to change that. Whoever is leading development for this app needs to be fired, they dont seem to have any clue what they are doing.

5 ★ Coming from one of the original Nighthawk routers I thought that was the king of gaming routers. I was wrong. This new ASUS line with 6G protocol and on the fly via app device prioritization is amazing. Network health checks in 2 seconds. With a couple taps I can ramp up ps4/5 remote play to a specific device in the house with the best frame rates I have ever seen even with an online game. Same with Steam... As a multidevice household routing everyone effectively is chef's kiss.

5 ★ App is far exceeding my expectations thus far! Easy to get connected and so far offers me plenty of great features. Love the parental controls and quick ability to edit my connected devices. Everything seems to work well for me!

3 ★ It seems to be better after the last update. After blocking the 2.4 GHz guest access the Wi-Fi Squatters seem to have disappeared or gone somewhere else. It's worrying how easily they gained access to the guest account as I have never granted access to any of their devices.

2 ★ Great router and app BUT.... Soon as i leave the house the router dies... leaving all my smart items dead (cameras dead too) for no reason at all. And it's not even my provider either as virgins router by itself works fine... the router has had an update needed via desktop or app but soon as it finishes updating the update fails EVERY TIME even have Asuswrt-Merlin installed to help with this but that does nothing also.... £150 for a router that only works when im home... kinder meh.

1 ★ THIS APP NEEDS SECURITY! There is no PIN or other security option to prevent someone from accessing your router via this app! I've looked all through this app, including under the hamburger menu icon. Looks like ASUS finally added a PIN feature to the iOS version, but not on Android. Very good app otherwise, but it's a FAIL from a mobile security perspective. This app is the weakest security link as it exposes & bypasses your router password to get direct access to most of your router functions.

4 ★ I'm favorably impressed, for the most part, but when I first used the app and tried to go through the setup procedure, no router was found ... after a little thought, I realized I had already set up the router on my PC, so I just went to login and everything was fine ...

3 ★ I love this app... It has virtually solved every issue I've had with my nighthawk which is now in the trash, Though at the app will lock me out of using my gaming boost feature which is mainly why I wanted this product and app, Still highly recommended over the competition.
