Materials
Aveeno® Daily Moisturizing Lotion or Aveeno® Daily Moisturizing Body Wash bottles (available at walgreens.com/aveeno)
saw or strong scissors/shears
adhesive vinyl
potted herbs or potting soil with seeds
Make Time: 10 Minutes per pot
Step 1: Take your empty bottle and toss the cap or pump. If you have access to a saw (we used miter saw), saw the bottle in half. If not, you can get through it with strong, sharp scissors. Cut all your bottles in half and rinse out the insides. Recycle the top portion.
Step 2: Remove the label sticker from the bottle.
Step 3: Cut a piece of adhesive vinyl large enough to cover the lower half of the bottle. Peel away the backing and place it on the front of the bottle. Smooth down any air bubbles.
Step 4: When you round the side of the bottle with your vinyl, you’ll need to make a 1″ slit in the bottom of the vinyl and overlap it onto itself. This helps it conform to the curve of the bottle. If it’s easier, you can also apply your vinyl in two sections (front and back).
Step 5: Use scissors to trim away excess vinyl. Cover all of your empty bottles in the same way.
Step 6: Plant your herbs! You can plant grown herbs or plant some seeds in potting soil and wait for them to spring up.
