Ashbec Hospital Safety Ranking APK

Release 2.2 adds support for seeing all Ashbec hospital safety rankings (overall, cardiac, orthopedic and pulmonary) for a hospital you specify by name. Users can continue to find the safest hospitals (by specialty) in a given geographic area.

This app helps users avoid preventable medical error (the third leading cause of death in the US) by finding the safest hospitals near a specific location. Hospitals are rated using a subset of the data published by the Hospital Compare website maintained by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Only observable patient safety metrics are included in the Ashbec-defined hospital rating. No survey data or opinions are included. Given permission, the app will use the phone's current location or a user specified location as the center of a search area. The seven most highly rated hospitals will be identified. Ratings available include ratings based on healthcare required (overall, cardiac, orthopedic and pulmonary). Users can also see all of the ratings (or lack thereof) for hospitals they select by name.
