Download the latest Appsi sidebar application, version 1.6.rc9.1, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Personalization app is developed by Appsi Mobile and is easy to download and install.
Previous versions, including 1.6.rc9.1, 1.5.2, are also available. If you need help or have any problems, please let us know.
Description
PLEASE NOTE: Appsi does not support lollipop, please try Appsii (two i's) instead.
It will save you time and provide you immediate access to anything you may need, like your apps, widgets, your call log or your favorite contacts.
How does this work?
As a sidebar for android, Appsi lives on top of everything else that is going in on your device, you only need to slide your finger over the screen starting at a location of your choice to get access to your Apps and the Home page.
If you have multiple plugins, you can set up more of these hotspots to access their data (for example call log, apps or SMS messages). And instantly call or text your favorite contacts.
What do I get?
By default Appsi has a home page which you can completely personalize. You can add Widgets, Home Plugins (third party developers can create them as well) and DashClock extensions. Home plugins can show you all kinds of information like weather, unread mail count, missed call count and a lot more. Appsi also has the apps page, which will allow you to navigate through your apps. You can also add as many favorite apps as you'd like which will be on top of the list, Appsi will also allow you to quickly search through a list of all you apps and every other plugin you have installed.
You can change almost anything in the appearance of Appsi. Change the transparency and the background of the sidebar. Choose from a light and a dark theme. Soon you'll also be able to choose the secondary color (in beta right now). You can change the font size, icon size and the spacing between the elements.
You get a search bar that you can use to find anything you have a plugin for, or in case you don't like the search bar, you can hide it.
And besides opening apps, a lot more plugins are available. There is a more extended version of the apps plugin in which you can also see recent apps and running apps and you can stop them instantly. It will also allow you to add favorites and show all apps.
There is the Calls plugin which allows you to choose your favorite contacts, will display your call log and list the contacts you selected. By default it will dial the contact you tap on, but this behavior can be changed to your needs. Using this plugin you can call anyone with only one slide.
Many more plugins will be developed in the future which will give you even more control over your device. Once new features are added to Appsi these will be available to all plugins.

The additional plugins mentioned above are provided as separate apps and need Appsi to function. Appsi itself is completely free, and contains no ads. The plugins are paid apps, and do not contain any ads either.
App permissions
Appsi sidebar 1.6.rc9.1 APK requires following permissions:
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows an application to read from external storage.
This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.

3 ★ 1. Place the Stock Music Widget. Play music. The album art will get displayed. Change to next track, album art won't change. Music widget is just an example, basically any widget (such as, Battery Widget with display of the change in the battery level) is not refreshing. Please fix this. 2. Allow the option to display the bar only on launcher screen and not on other apps screens. 3. Ability to hide "All Apps". This could be done as an option.
4 ★ I liked this app a lot. I used it for several months. Then it just quit on me. It won't work anymore. Everytime I try to swipe it open it brings up my Flipboard news on my Galaxy S6. I was able to use both but this app stopped working. Kinda suck. Gonna have to uninstall. :(
3 ★ ... having the same issue as another commenter noted before, in that it keeps closing, forcing me to go into my app drawer to reopen Appsi. If this is how the app operates, what's the point? Am hoping this is a bug which can be fixed promptly...
4 ★ This is a great app, I loved it in my SGS3. But it doesn't work for me anymore. Note to devs: could you investigate the issues with MIUI launcher? I can see other users have the same problem.
4 ★ Multiple pages by swiping and ability to add widgets, feels a bit like the S7 Edge screen. It's great that the widgets are functional. However there's no way to create folders neither direct dials. Honestly, this has the potential to be the absolute best, the answer to all sidebars. I have tried over 20 or so apps. However, it's been abandoned. No update since 2013. Really a let down. Summing it up: this is the best sidebar app, except for 1) no folders 2) no direct dial. 3) widgets sometimes won't update.
5 ★ Only one thing I didn't like. It would be awesome if you could drag apps onto your home screen from the sidebar. Tip: don't place a hotspot too low on the screen: the keyboard won't work
5 ★ Best multitadker i found. I lile mine ramsparent. And the width at 12%.If you cant get it to run, try putting device apps to default all. Or go on device settings and select update device. Somrtimes rebootong seversl times works.
3 ★ The app kinda shuts off randomly. I have no idea why or how, but the notification says that it is still working correctly. It just won't activate. When it is working correctly, its great, but it lasts for like 2 minutes.
1 ★ Loved this app, but after an update awhile back, the sidebar keeps disappearing, usually a couple times a day. I have to go back into the app to get it to reappear. After posting about this issue twice with no response or fix, I'm uninstalling. Not worth the hassle.
5 ★ Best sidebar I have found... And I swear I have tried them all. The best part is the full widget support that really let's you add exactly what you need. Even with widgets it doesn't lag like competitor sidebar apps I tried.
4 ★ I miss celsius switch for weather widget. Also there is not too much options, "hide apps" from list will be nice too :) That is reason for 4 stars. Oh, it will be nice with csipsimple support :)
4 ★ A great concept fairly well implemented. My main issue is that it crashes - and that's annoying for a sidebar loaded with my most frequently used apps. UPDATE Seems much more stable now. 4 stars!
3 ★ Would be very good, but recently realised that widgets in the sidebar don't update at all, so if using the side bar for widgets it's useless. Also a bit laggy when rehiding the sidebar.
4 ★ I'm really enjoying this app! It's very easy to get used to and really functional in everyday phone use. I no longer use folders now because this is much more aesthetically pleasing for me. So far it is a great app to use.
3 ★ I ♥ this app! If recent foreclosure issue was fixed and you added just 2 more personalization options were available this app would def be 5★'s. Requested options, 1.ability to change the height of hotspots not just the width. I thought this was something I had done once but unable to see any info about it now. 2. more hotspot color options or the ability to personalize their own colors. With F/C issue fixed & addition of features, this could be in my top 5 fav apps! GREAT JOB!
