Description

This app does one thing and one thing only - mark all your SMS as read. No more frustration opening each and every unread message to mark it read - this app does it in one click.

You can either launch the app and touch the check mark or you could add a shortcut to your home screen.

Note to KitKat users:
In KitKat and above, the application should be the default messaging application for modifying read status of SMS. So, for KitKat and above, app will ask to set 'Mark All SMS Read' as the default messaging app. Once all SMS are marked read, the app will ask to change back to the original messaging app. So, for KitKat, it will be 3 clicks.

4 ★ I restored all my data to a Galaxy S7 Active when my last phone was stolen, leaving me with over 11,000 unread messages. Manually marking them would have been a tremendous chore, but this app took care of the problem. The only issue is that it requests to be the default messaging app with each activation. Still, it completely fulfills its purpose.

5 ★ Switched to Google Messenger because my phone's default texting app was horrible. The downside of GM is they don't really bold the unread messages. I had two unread messages and couldn't find them anywhere. This app cleared that up instantly!

3 ★ Worked perfectly. Took about 10 seconds from download to execution to uninstall. UPDATE: And then the "5" on my Messenger badge returned minutes later... Further details: Samsung Galaxy S7, T-Mobile. New phone. Came with a Messages app. I downloaded & installed Android Messages app, as that's what I'd used before. After setting up new phone & bringing over texts with Samsung Smart Switch, both text apps showed 5 unread messages (which I couldn't locate). Clearing badge worked only for a short while. The 5 always came back on both. Used this Mark All SMS Read app. Worked on Google Messages briefly. 5 came back. Seems to have worked permanently on Samsung/T-Mobile's Messages app. So, I uninstalled Google Messages & use the pre-packed Messages. So, of 2 messaging apps on my phone, this worked for 1 but not the other. Kooky.

4 ★ Had a little difficulty at first. Did not mark SMS as read. Had to go into settings to change default app instead of using the pop-up. Had to hit the check multiple times to read all but it ended up working on all messages. Thanks!

1 ★ After installing, allowing the app to become default, hitting the check mark to mark all read, I returned to the default messenge app. After returning it to default, 153 unread messages! I have just completed reading them... One by one.

5 ★ Worked great. Had a pesky unread "1" that I just couldn't find in my Android Messages app. This marked it as read, wherever it was hiding! Thanks!

5 ★ Solved my problem of annoying unread sms count on my home screen. Thanks a lot.

5 ★ I had 3 SMS notifications that would not clear. This fixed it. Thank you they were really bugging me.

3 ★ Messages are remarked as not read if switch back to messenger as the default app.

4 ★ After clearing app data a few times and then rebooting, it worked - moto force z

3 ★ It worked for my phone, but it also messed up a couple of things. First, I had to manually set my default SMS back to its original, and now my phone doesn't notify me when I get a text. It did what I downloaded it to do, but it needs a couple of fixes.

1 ★ Didn't work for me. While the stock app was complaining that there were hundreds of unread messages, this app said that zero messages marked as read.

5 ★ I'm able to trigger the shortcut using tasker and the autoshortcut plugin.

5 ★ Super! Finally I can....wait! Ahhh 999 more spam sms! All read! Done!

5 ★ A brilliant app that does what it promises. I had restored SMS from backup (20K+) SMS and couldn't get rid of 36 unread. This app did it in 1 minute.
