Description
First, Pushkin was going to translate the play, but then embarked on the path of free processing, moving the action from Austria to Italy (Shakespeare himself borrowed the plot of the play from the Italian chronicles). The poem was published in 1834 (in the anthology AF Smirdin "Housewarming", Part II).
