A-1 Taxi originated in 1987 as a family owned business. First serving the city of Leesburg and gradually growing through the years to service all of Lake and Sumter counties, and now the Villages. The early pioneers of A-1 Taxi understood the concept of a valued customer. In early 2008, keeping with tradition, the Gamble family acquired A-1 Taxi. Upon acquisition, we set our goal to provide safe, professional, and timely service to our valued customers.

At A-1 Taxi, we understand the importance of safety in these times, therefore, all of A-1 Taxi's vehicles are commercially insured and visibly decaled with our name, vehicle number, phone number, and rates. Our drivers have passed a drivers license query and criminal background check. Further, each driver wears an A-1 Taxi uniform shirt and is required to purchase a driver permit through city government.

A-1 taxi now offers direct transportation to OIA, Tampa, and Sanford airport.

We have also replaced our fleet vehicles with newer, safer, more economical models to include Impalas (local fares)and Mini Vans (for customers with large parties or extra luggage).
