Dr. Davidson Isibor Akimien who is the presidential candidate of the GDPN in the 2019 Nigerian general elections was born on the 6th of May 1965 to the family of Capt. David Akhimien (rtd.) of Ekpoma, Edo state and from his childhood had a strong drive for the military and paramilitary establishments. This drive led him to seek his primary education at Army Children’s School, Kakuri, Kaduna, Secondary education at the Nigerian Military School, Zaria and in 1990 gained admission to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna as a member of the 29th Short Service Course. He graduated from there with a Presidential Parchment of Combatant Commission.

He at different times attended several Universities within Nigeria and overseas such as the University of Ife, Babcock University, Ilishan – Remo, OlabisiOnabanjo University, Ago – Iwoye and the University of Lagos. He also attended the Universite Du Benin, Cotonou; UniversiteNationale Du Benin, Lome – Togo and Universidade De Brasilia, Brazil, outside Nigeria. Davidson Akhimien has also attended several professional courses including the Young Officer’s Intelligence Course, Offensive/Defensive Technical Intelligence Course, Young Officer’s Infantry Course at Jaji and Tactical Intelligence Officer’s Course while at the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI). Davidson IsiborAkhimien holds a first degree in Modern European Languages and Post Graduate qualifications in Theology (Pastoral Emphasis), International Law &Diplomacy, Criminology and is rounding up his study of Ph.D in Political Science (Peace and Conflict).

Davidson IsiborAkhimien began his military career as a boy soldier. He also served as analyst for Africa and Middle East Affairs in the Strategic Intelligence Group of the Directorate of Military Intelligence in 1988 and worked within the army till 1996 when he retired from the Ministry of Defence as an Administrative Officer in the Headquarters Camp of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (NAIC).

He therefrom began his stint in civilian employ as the Manager; Central Security Control of Pacific Group of Companies in 1997. In a very short while however, he was appointed as the Director of Security Services in Babcock University.

In that same period of time, he founded and currently sits as the Chairman of King David Group of Companies with interests in the Private Security, Logistics, Hospitality and Food & Beverages sectors.

Davidson Isibor Akhimien is a polyglot fluent in Hausa, Yoruba, Ibo, Ishan, French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.

He is an author of more than seven works and a preacher of the gospel. He has a passion for leadership particularly he desires to see a better Nigeria that we all can be proud of.
