3 ★ This concept is fabulous. I've placed 3 orders so far but have had 2 cancelled. Because there are not many places in my area I need to travel to the location. The VERY BIG downside is the store cancels your order when you could, as I have, already driven to the area. If a store provides the opportunity they need to ensure the order will be filled.
1 ★ App makes you scroll a lot. Scroll through. Doesn't let you put in zop code. Lets you look at each city and miles from city. All of a sudden one place popped up. I bought it. It said i can pick up between 10 am to 6 pm. Then at 2:00 pm it canceled. I didnt get text. I got email. I drove over there and find that i no longer have the tab. Would have best to get text and email. Or tell the place to shorten pick up time. They sold more than they give out. That's not nice.
2 ★ When I first started using the app it was great, but my most recent order could not be found in the system during my attempt to pick up and the store said there was no food available. I sent an email through the app, but have gotten no response in almost a week. Will give it a little longer then I'll talk to my bank about getting funds back then delete the app as well as the account altogether.
3 ★ Concept is good but needs fine tuning. The app needs to allow you to narrow down an area. The radius is too big, even if you dont select it. I think there needs to be more transparency in what you get. Some places offer a plate of food, not a "bag" or "large portions." There needs to be a section on what people have received in the past so you can get an idea if it's worth your money or not. I get some stores might not want to, but this will help people decide if they want to order.
5 ★ You know, I considered giving this app less than 5 stars, just because there isn't a whole lot of variety, but I guess that's not really their fault. The app itself, and the idea, are great! There is really some great value on what is out there as of right now. I just wish more restaurants would get it in gear and join this cause! Not only would they recuperate potential loss, but others could benefit as well!
3 ★ Was excited to try this. With skyrocketing prices we can no longer afford takeout food. Sadly there are rarely options available in Twin Cities, MN. When something does come up it's usually not real food, just tea or cakes. I placed an order with an African restaurant last week, but they cancelled later. I managed to get an order in at a sushi place, and it was the worst sushi I've ever had. I rate the app 3 stars for the noble cause, but they've a long ways to go yet here. Maybe it'll catch on!
3 ★ Awesome concept. Great deals to get affordable food that would otherwise be wasted. But the app itself has horrendously bad design and is buggy and generally just isn't pleasant to use. So many popups cover the screen over and over and over again asking to share to social media, update the app, etc etc.
5 ★ I love this app for many reasons! 1 It gets me out of the house because you have to pick up the food. 2 The element of surprise is fun, you never know what your going to get. 3 What you get may have not been something you would have normally ordered, so trying out new things is fun. 4 Its affordable. 5 It allows you to try new local places. 6 Your helping out local businesses, environnement, your wallet, your belly. I hope it continues to thrive.
5 ★ Exceptional. I've used it six times so far. The restaurants aren't stingy on portions but you don't decide what to receive. I've received medium size platters for $3.99- $5.99. This app is handy when you're short on funds and afford to pay $18 and up. Plus the restaurants make money off of food they were going to trash at the end of the night. A win win for both parties! The app works perfectly for me, no complaints.
1 ★ Attention TGTG | First, dark mode would be preferred. Second, a recent update which separated options has made the app cumbersome, annoying and frustrating to use. The update removed the "sold out" option from the filters menu. Now, the "sold out" and "today" filters are at two separate places. All the filters and options should be in one place. This is maddening and almost enough to not use TGTG. In addition, a box of donuts is not a meal. Stop sending notifications like this.
2 ★ several bugs I've noticed from shops appearing and disappearing randomly, the measurements for distance switching from miles to kilometers and the occasional crash. I've also not found much of any savings. the few places I went put the stuff up at an incredibly inflated price so what I got was almost twice what you'd expect to pay for that fresh
4 ★ 10/9/23 update: 1 star removed. App has been really buggy lately. The option to pull up an order to swipe and show to restaurant does not always come up. Most recently, took a while to get it to come up, then it allowed me to swipe right, then swipe back left, then right again, and left again. ---- the service that the app provides is fantastic. more food establishments are getting on board regularly, do if you have none or few in your area, be patient and keep checking.
4 ★ I love the idea of the app. It's a little buggy: a) The search radius is erratic. Just switching between the filters page and the results page, the size of the search circle shown is not the same. Set the radius to 1 mi, change it to 2, & back to 1: the two "1 mile" circles are not the same size. b) Going to my Favorites page often tells me I have no favorites. Navigate to Browse and back, now favorites show up.
5 ★ Love that this reduces food waste/climate impact, supports local businesses, and introduces us to new foods and places. The app has been really easy to use. Handy that it allows to look via proximity or set location, and that connects to mapping to help you navigate to new-to-you places once you have chosen your "surprise bag." Was also easy to buy a second bag (as long as they have additional) at one place when realized would like more than one.
3 ★ Overall, this is a fine app to discover local food at cheaper prices. However, there are a few areas that could stand to be improved. One, I don't understand why there is no option to save your search settings. Everytime I tap on the app, I have to re-enter my preferences in the filter bar. Secondly, it will still show me restaurants beyond my search radius, which clogs up the screen. Lastly, sometimes I feel all you're getting is a smaller portion size for an equivalent price, not a real deal.
